Speedwinkle

  • Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle says she does not condone speeding. She says any speeding tickets issued to her county car “are paid.” We found the truth to be a little different.

There must have been quite a political emergency in the Austin neighborhood at 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, February 25. That’s when Preckwinkle’s county car—captured on video above—went barreling along Central Avenue at 45 MPH in a 30 MPH park zone. (She’s lucky. On school days, the speed limit is 20 MPH.)

The emergency lights on Preckwinkle’s car are flashing. In the video, you can even see an on-coming driver pull over to make room. The driver was probably wondering what terrible emergency the oncoming SUV with flashing lights was heading to.

It was nothin'. The lights were on to get the peasants out of the way.
What possible reason could there be for Prickwrinkle (or Rahm for that matter) to need to speed, run lights, etc., ever? A political emergency? A pending federal indictment? Maybe being late for a deposition regarding some massive expenditure of taxpayer money?

I follow mathematical possibilities for this one with a "truth" statement use a Boolean algorithmic equation-- very simple. So keeping all possibilities fare, let's use Prongwinkles track record. Politicians lie-- >True. Prongwinkle is a communist politician-->therefore she lies. Let's go about this a different way. People who don't care--> are assholes. And, people disregard school zone speed limits-->are assholes; and dirtbags. So this statement is two told, you have to do both to be asshole, for example I can be a person who does not care, but I don't speed through school zones--> so I would not be an asshole cause I don't do both.

On the other hand Prongwinkle does not care and she speeds through schools zones-->TRUE; she is an asshole (and a dirtbag)

Toni Reed/Winkle date of alleged spawning or "birth" is right around the corner---March 17, 1947. I have to say alleged it because I must say a person like her, Ramm, and Kidney Soup are very much like the following from the dictionary and do not under go any type of quality birth -- fish, frog, mollusk, crustacean, etc.) release or deposit eggs. "the fish spawn among fine-leaved plants"

Seriously, 71 years old and making people's lives fucking worse than it should be. Has she even conceptualized a life of being retired? For some reason democrats do not retire. Once elected, they are there for life or until death. Old man Stroger and Nancy Pelosi, same thing. How was it that Mayor Washington passed away? At his desk back in 1987, rushed to the hospital and later passed away at hospital.

By Tom Dart.

Over the last several months, a well-intentioned experiment in criminal justice reform has been quietly rolling out in courtrooms across Chicago. While much has been good so far, I am concerned the effort is dangerously veering off course. From the outside, getting criminal justice right sounds simple enough: After someone is arrested, keep the violent ones locked up and let everyone else go unless and until they are convicted.

I recently raised concern about judges sending a high number of potentially violent defendants to the electronic monitoring program I run. The program was designed to handle nonviolent offenders, but the number of defendants facing violent crime or gun charges who are ordered into the program has jumped by about 50 percent. Cook County’s recent severe budget cuts have made it difficult to effectively take on this increasing risk in a home detention program that monitors more than 2,000 people on ankle bracelets every day.

My concern has so far been met with indifference, denial and ungrounded outrage. My commitment to reform has been questioned. Some say those arrested on gun charges aren’t necessarily “violent.” Even if they are, others argue, there is no proof they will commit new crimes or flee prosecution if they have an ankle bracelet on them. Critics argue that few defendants have been rearrested so far. This ignores the fact that thousands of crime victims every year — those shot, robbed or raped — go without justice because no one is charged. In 2017, the murder closure rate in Chicago hit a new low at just 17.5 percent.

Let’s be clear about the problems I’m talking about. As of Wednesday, there were 33 individuals accused of murder or attempted murder, 51 charged with criminal sexual assault or abuse, and 39 charged with armed robbery assigned to my electronic monitoring program. One man recently ordered into the program was arrested after running from police while carrying a 9 mm loaded with hollow-point bullets. This 26-year-old man had 18 prior adult arrests, including eight convictions. One of those convictions was for running away from the same electronic monitoring program the judge sent him back to. Just a few days ago, another man on electronic monitoring — though charged as an armed habitual criminal — was found in a car with a loaded gun under his seat. The judge ordered him back into my program if he could pay a few thousand dollars in bond. This is not reform. We can’t declare victory and just move on.

I recently reiterated that electronic monitoring was never intended for these offenders. After all, those of us pushing this criminal justice reform had long promised that our aim was to help nonviolent offenders and that bond reform would not further endanger the public.

When I was elected sheriff of Cook County, the U.S. Department of Justice declared the overcrowded county jail violated the Constitution, calling it an “unsecure facility that is dangerous for everyone on the premises” where detainees were “regularly subjected to inappropriate and excessive use of physical force.” This summer we were congratulated by that department as we exited federal oversight for the first time in 40 years.

Or in front of some other group. Both would be a violation on using it. She should be cited for it. Also using a government
vehicle and having a government employee cart her around while on the clock to do campaign work, shouldn’t be acceptable.

Well hopefully the voters are awake and wil vote her ass out. I’m not a big Feoreti fan, but if he wins and doesn’t do better

Agree. I stopped reading because CWB is not the police and they were critical at times due to lack of understanding of what coppers deal with and the limitations of our powers as well as what we know is gonna fuck us. Of course the typical, “lazy cops but we know this isn’t all CPD” is said. Too late, that’s all a slap in the face. The comments section would often be critical of the police or, more commonly, give advice to how we should police, often times as a “stupid cop should’ve done...”. Wrigleyville is practically Boystown now.

The inherent nature of those both historically considered as not normal and those who find a source of leverage in continuing to insist that little to not nearly enough has altered this historical considering, produces this knee jerk reaction, especially on an easy to spout off vehicle as a blog comment section.

(The proof of the accuracy of the above assertion, - NO, not INSERTION!!!!-, will be a reply soaked in leverage....or no reply at all.....)

So,a recommendation to disregard the peanut gallery comments, (NO, not.....never mind.....), is called for on this.
