Bad Week

At least five officers across the nation killed in the past six days, including two in Ohio:
  • Two Ohio police officers responding to a 911 hang-up call were fatally shot on Saturday after entering an apartment in a Columbus suburb and a suspect was taken into custody, authorities said.

Westerville Police Chief Joe Morbitzer said officer Eric Joering, 39, died at the scene and his colleague, Anthony Morelli, 54, died at a local hospital.

Morbitzer said the officers were responding to a "potential domestic situation." A neighbor who heard the gunfire said it happened at a home where the occupants were "always arguing and fighting."
Be careful out there boys and girls. Watch your back and your partner's back.

Double cop killer Quentin Lamar SMITH (M/B/30) will be taking the needle at the execution chamber in Lucasville. The question is: WHEN?

Asshole was also a felon with a gun. Should have never made it out of there. He belongs on a concrete slab.

Looks like Westerville has turned into a shithole.
Back in the 80s & 90s it was high class.
HOMES there are still expensive.
"Apartment" says it all. Don't expect the
homeowners to move. Some greedy developers
increased the apartment ratio. That's what happens
when you bring in renters who have no stake in the
community.
Back in the day, real estate agents kept the trash out.
Nowadays we don't have that first line of protection.

Don't go in alone on any domestic! Always assume the worst case scenario. Weapons ready and heads on a swivel.

Per the 2017 stats for LEO’s Line of Duty deaths, ‘firearm related’ incidents were #1 with domestic disturbances the most likely to encounter the firearm deaths.

May they all RIP, what is aggravating is watching the younger coppers constantly on the phone, looking down texting not paying attention to anyone or anything! Dont think the illegal criminals and thugs do not notice how easy they could do something! Other day watched beat XXX pull up west end of 008, to a domestic neighbor was having, driver got out as passenger was to engrossed on her phone to even get out, everything turned out OK apparently as copper was inside residence and she sat in the car!

Whatever happened also to other cars "slipping by" just to make sure everything was going alright? Is the new generation to busy with facebook and other ridiculous social media to care about the job and their partners? I know the exempt ranks are totally inept and do nothings, but blue protected blue always what happened? Oh and if you got Facebook and are a copper please delete it unless you dream about being the little 2nd grade school girl, which what many wish to be!!

Channel 4 in Columbus (nbc4i.com):

"WESTERVILLE, OH (WCMH) — Westerville Police Chief Joe Morbitzer said there is a “special place in hell” for people seeking to profit off of the deaths of two of his officers.

At a press conference Sunday, Morbitzer said fake fundraising pages have been set up online for fallen officers Eric Joering, 39, and, Tony Morelli, 54, who died responding to a domestic call Saturday.

“We should be honoring these two officers right now, not illicitly trying to profit off the officers’ deaths,” he said.

There is a GoFundMe page set up by the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #9: click here to access it. As of Saturday at 1pm, more than $155,000 has been raised.

CME Federal Credit Union in Westerville will also accept donations for the family.

“We have people calling our radio room, screaming threats, obscenities and vulgarities at our radio techs,” Moritzer said. “And quite frankly there’s a special place in hell for those people. And my wish is that it comes very soon.”

Community members have donated more food to the police department than it currently has room for, so anyone wishing to donate food can contact the Westerville Police Records Bureau at 614-901-6450 to coordinate their donation."

Looks like he has insulted some vunnables. Looks like he doesn't care.

My condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of the fallen police officers from Westerville, Ohio. May God comfort the families of officers Eric Joering and Anthony Morelli.

Incredibly sad times that we live in. I can't imagine the heartache these families are going through.

No call is routine. Treat every call and any call, and any street stop, or self initiated call(if any one does those any more) as the real thing. Believe me, your life and your partner's WILL depend on it. Stay safe brothers and sisters, and go home to your families. My wife and I pray for you everyday.

You are seeing what happened to the slip by and see if everything is good. Now the assigned car has the “new police” talking on her phone Isn’t a one time occurrence, that’s for sure

And then we see in some cases that hiring for police leaves much to be desired.

NEWCOMERSTOWN, OH (WOIO) -

Bryan Eubanks a former Newcomerstown Police Officer was sentenced Monday on felony charges for reporting he had been shot while on duty last April.

Newcomerstown cop indicted on charges after lying about being shot

Eubanks received 90 days in jail, a $2,500 fine and 500 hours of community service.

An investigation revealed he had shot himself and made up a story about stopping a car who’s driver opened fire.

The original report triggered a widespread manhunt for the imaginary gunman.

Eubanks later admitted he was lying.

The Ohio Attorney General prosecuted the case.

His crimes included inducing panic, making false alarms, tampering with evidence, forgery and workers compensation fraud.

His attorney says the former policeman was stressed to the breaking point, suffering night terrors and more telling Judge Edward O'Farrell at sentencing Monday, "Not everyone is cut out to be a police officer. He's not one of them."

It won't be long before Police Chiefs, Sheriffs and other law enforcement officials start telling American CITIZENS start carrying because the criminals need to be stopped. Now! Permanently!
