Crime Fighting Conference?

  • Police leaders and prosecutors from 22 cities are in Chicago today to get some advice from the Chicago Police Department. Crime fighters from across the country are at the University of Chicago Crime Lab for a 2-day conference. They'll be taking field trips to see the technology and meet the people that have helped Chicago reduce its gun violence over the past year. Over the last few years Chicago has become the poster child for gun violence. Homicides surged in 2016 to 764, the highest number this city has seen in nearly 20 years.

The CPD asked Los Angeles police for some help implementing a successful crime fighting program which was proven there. It consisted of technology, policing, and a collaboration with a local university to analyze data.

A year later, Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson says, “We’ve got a lot of questions from around the country about what worked here.” “We’ve created a model so powerful, along with our officers," he said. "Chicago saw 22 percent less shooting and 16 percent less murders in 2017 compared to 2016.”
That's a good question - what worked here. And the answer, believe it or not, is happenstance.

Sure, the numbers look good if you compare 2017 to 2016. But what if you compare them to 2015? or 2014? Oh yeah, it's trending upward. We've said it before and we'll repeat it here for the tiny brains:
  • 2016 was the aberration.
And if you look at our posts last week, we point out the robberies and carjackings are through the roof. Up 200% and then some in some categories. So while homicides and shootings are down from last year, almost everything else isn't. And the clearance rate continues to circle the bowl. Crime isn't getting solved.

But hey, come to Chicago and marvel at the lack of dead bodies in the streets.

So ICAM finally kicked in! Yep, were all waiting for the newest future defunct software to be presented as the "Magic Bullet." Who needs actual police officers to put eyes and hands on bad guys; as if that work!. Isn't it time to re-cycle the "Crystal Ball Unit" idea as new and improved, again?......Or was it ICAM II .....

Keep gargling 9.5's tiny sack, Ed, you lying piece of shit.

Here's hoping 2018 turns out to be the most violent and bloody year yet, confirming Ed as the the worst Stupidintendent in CPDs history to coincide with him bailing for "health issues".

These conventions are just an excuse for the bosses to strike each other. Nothing is ever accomplished. They meet, wine and dine, get away for a few days and try to get us believe they are accomplishing something. They think we are fools. Also makes them feel important and most of them like to hear themselves talk

Doesn’t surprise me at all. No matter how much fake news is out there the men and women of the CPD are holding the line against crime. Chicago has already had a violent crime problem going back to the Valentines Day Massacre. Despite extreme local politics and a lack of leadership from Washington DC our leadership is doing a good job with the deck they have been dealt. Merit Promotions and other controversies don’t stop bad guys from being arrested by CPD. When summoned I gladly stepped up and joined my districts tact team and our Sgt. Is the kind of gal who I know has our backs and understands the strategic intent of the District Commander and the tactical perspective of our tact lieutenant. Everybody on my team is focused on getting the job done and shaping our careers. We all studied criminal justice or public administration etc and can’t imagine our promotional exams being hard. Back to the topic I’m honored our department is showing leadership in addressing national crime trends. I look forward to emerging as a leader in this great department! Tact Rules! Patrol is the heart and soul of the COD - Chicago’ s finest! Being Fetal is dishonorable!

What is needed are judges that apply the law and hit violent criminals with maximum sentences. You want to play with technology? Use it on the court system/ judges. Crunch cases from the past 15 years and then show me hoe much of the dumb ghetto shit never would've happened because....Guess???? The bad guys would've been in jail! What a concept! Criminals in jail instead of walking down your street! These dog shit 🐕 anti American liberals are completely lost. You want a model to follow? Talk to Rudy Giuliani in New York and see how they went from 2,000 homicides down to 400 to 500 . 3x the population of Chicago. Nobody wants to do it because it entails a very uncomfortable reality for the bubble world race baiting liberals, which is, not all races commit crime at the same rate. POLITICS OVER PULSES IN CHICAGO!!!! Lets ignore what was done by Giuliani in New York City, nothing to marvel at there, just a massive reduction in violent crime.🍺🍕 The ghost of Pat Learnihan

Did anyone acknowledge the fact that officers were reassigned to the city's worse areas at the expense of the rest of the tax paying residents? Also, crime in these areas went "down" due to officers tripping over each other thus diverting crime to less patrolled areas. Give me a break, statistics can always be skewed and manipulated.

uh..... maybe these 22 Police 'leaders' from other cities are going to the wrong place for Crime Fighting Advice, to wit: ......

>>> Swedish PM does not rule out use of army to end gang violence
Sweden will do whatever it takes, including sending in the army, to end a wave of gang violence that has seen a string of deadly shootings, Prime Minister Stefan Lofven said in Wednesday. ~~~p~~~ Sweden’s murder rate is relatively low in international terms, but gang violence has surged in recent years and Swedes are worried that the police are unable to cope. ~~~p~~~ In 2016, the latest year for which official statistics are available, 106 people were murdered in Sweden, a country of 10 million. ~~~p~~~ But Swedish TV reported there were over 300 shootings, mostly in turf battles between gangs over drugs, protection rackets and prostitution. (more at link) <<<

Now THERE's a place and leader that takes Crime Fighting seriously. Just 106 Murders & 300 Shootings for ONE YEAR and they're thinking of bringing in the ARMY!

And f--king Rahm won't even hire the 1,000 Police he's promised a dozen times.

2016 was the most fucked up year because of a few things. First, it’s when Gary Mcdinglenuts signed the Dept’s death warrant, with that ridiculous agreement with the aclu. ISR’s. Fuck those things. Remember the contact cards? And how they pushed them and pushed them, and then backtracked and said whooooaaaaaa there honcho, y’all are violatin these folks. We gotta suck on some aclu nutsack and get this contract signed so they won’t sue us. That pissed EVERYBODY off. Second, that year was fresh with copper anger from the Laquan shooting. Angry that all the exempts walked, and all the lower ranks got fucked. Third, the media continuously portrayed dozens of shitheads that broke the law from around the country in their 8th grade graduation uniforms, portraying them as social justice heroes. What bullshit. Putting up statues in their honor, Michael Brown, Gray, Obama and his AG Holder, Father Faker, Rev suckass. Getting away with crazy amounts of nonsense. ALL THAT shit pissed us all off. Fourth, that year the Dept started to really make examples out of coppers, stripping them for nonsense things. Fat head Ed taking phone calls from “activists” that were mad that a copper did his job after his partner was getting choked. THAT shit pissed us all off. Fifth, the body cams rolled out. Not a damn one of us trusted anything at that point. And now you’re gonna strap on these body cams? Have an “integrity unit”? Get away with bullshit cheating Lt’s exams? We ALL smelled trick bag. Even tho there was nothing to hide, we had to appease the “community”. We didn’t trust ANYONE. So we didn’t...do...SHIT. That whole year. Answer calls, that’s it. Bodies piled up, who cares. We finally finally are now starting to break out of our shells, a teency bit. Cant sit idle forever. A man/woman will go fkin crazy. We still feel burned. Burned by a society that has no idea what we see or do and we get berated day in and day out. The “in-between” stories, that they never see or hear about. Every cop I know, is honorable. There are exceptions of course, in any profession. Lazy ones, dogs, etc. but chances are, they got that way, because the Dept fked them over. Sad times folks. Media just keeps spinning, and spinning, the bullshit wheel, round and round. Good luck, stay safe.

The LA County Sheriff Deputies are quite the entrepreneurs. I guess their pension plan was not generous enough? Or were their recruiting standards too diverse?

Maybe the REAL agenda is to see how NOT to police. Thank you CPD brass with your new policies, the ACLU, and Democratic machine for handcuffing our police department resulting in a city having out of control crime coupled with a low clearance rate that is a law enforcement embarrassment.

And let me not forget our crime enabling partners, Obama who gave voice to a false narrative regarding the police (thanks to him people STILL think the police shooting in Ferguson MO was not justified), a new States Attorney who is so soft on crime that we hardly need prosecutors, and a Sheriff whose mission it is to empty the jails and put criminals back on the streets to prey on our citizens.

It took a village to turn Chicago into the shit hole is has become.

Was watching Tucker Carlson last night and wow he had alderman George Cardenas from our city and dam George was so confused resulted in mindless babbling really shows how they lie, looks like George the other 49 rahm Durban and the rest are in the tank to support law breaking illegals as they aide and abet them, using millions in our money to do so! Think about this the mayor took away Cpd retirees health care and gave millions to the illegals and not a word said in support from any other elected goof! The Feds coming here to drain this swamp cannot come quick enough to arrest these criminals!

Another thought rahm has his not elected but appointed city clerk Anna making ID cards for the illegals where they can pick a sex,and name then will get discounts everywhere gee how does that work? So the citizens will pay full boat and extra taxes and get zero! The pandering for illegal votes is pathetic wrong and totally illegal when the Feds come and load the busses law and order will return making this once great city rise again!

It was a simple process (1) Identify the criminal population. (2) Issue them Section 8 vouchers for anywhere in America. (3) Destroy the Projects and condemn their homes all over the city and plant sod. (4) Move 100,000 people out to Suburbs, small towns, Milwaukee, Detroit. Minneapolis. Murders dropped from 1,000 to 400. (5) then another generation of criminals are born and the numbers are creeping up to 800 again. BUT 1000 TO 400 TO 800 is still a reduction and we have lush lawns along State street and large parking lots in the west side. Next we repeat the process when we hit 1000.

Tracking homicides is false data. To many things affect that number. How many ambulances were available, how close to the hospital, which doctors on duty. Instead we should be tracking the number of shootings because someone tried to kill but the victim got lucky. I doubt any numbers went down.

Correct. There are medical reasons the murder numbers are down however the number that isn't down is the number of people TRYING to kill someone. A respected person in our field, Lt. Col. Dave Grossman talks about that all the time. He says if we had 1970's medical science today we would have over 1000 dead each year. And I agree.

Ahahahahahaha. Some on SWAT are nice enough but many are handjobs thay think they’re all special forces, granted one is and one alone. Everyone else is terrified of him too, even Lambo. Guess what, ladies, you’re a cop. If you listen to them they’ll talk about how they have done training with SEALs as if they earned a trident. It’s like me changing my tire and declaring myself a mechanic. Is this girl a friend or did you overhear this? If you overheard it, you should have laughed obnoxiously loud and hard and asked him to repeat himself over and over again. Called friends and put him on speaker phone for the repeat and laugh.

"They'll be taking field trips to see the technology and meet the people that have helped Chicago reduce its gun violence over the past year"

"Between 2014 and 2015, more than 9,000 black residents left Cook County, and since 2010, the Chicago area, which for the census includes parts of Indiana and Wisconsin, has lost more than 35,000 black residents. The exodus is greater than in any other metropolitan area in the country"

Hard to figure out the common denominator here? Maybe a PHD might help us common folks out?

So maybe the honorable mayors have it right! reduce the black population and crime magically is reduced. Who would have thought?

A couple bullets in the head and a body found in a garage or in a car has a better chance of surviving nowadays. The buried ones if taken immediately to the ER have a good chance of surviving. That’s not counting the ones we’re you get a call of foul odor or a well being check when a family of four haven’t been seen in a week.
