Code of Excusing Bad Behavior

  • Chicago Public Schools Inspector General Nicholas Schuler says district CEO Forrest Claypool should be fired for his handling of an ethics investigation involving the district’s top attorney, according to sources, but Mayor Rahm Emanuel is sticking by his embattled schools chief.

Emanuel issued a statement Wednesday night saying Claypool “made a mistake” but called for no rush to judgment.

“These are serious allegations, and I know the board is reviewing them with the scrutiny they merit – but Forrest himself has already acknowledged the lapse in judgment, and apologized for it,” Emanuel said in a statement. “And I think we should all take a deep breath before making snap judgments about a man with a sterling reputation and a sterling record of public service.”
Well thank goodness he was only mishandling ethics investigations. Chicago pols haven't had any ethics to speak of since early 1837 and weren't about to actually enforce ethical behavior nowadays. Rules are for fools, not Claypool.

Great article......We have nothing but the best guys running the parks, schools, city, county and the state......That's why they are all beyond broke! Legends in their own (small) minds. I hope we can figure out a few more people to hire at upwards of $300,000.00 + to help. All we need is a few more good guys and it will all be straightened out, like Milwaukee Avenue.....LOL

This cuck is a protected insider. Someone who shouldn't be in a leadership position. He's been on the union's hit parade ever since he fucked with people at the Park District.

Double standard on a Rule 14 violation for Rahm's buddy Claypool, don't you know only cops get fired for lying, false report etc. City should hire Nick Schuler as Inspector General and get rid of do nothing political hack Ferguson who would never dare interview Rahm. Rahm's low rent and third rate Inspector General Ferguson is strictly a go along guy going after small fish.

The walrus was Paul said ... I am in awe of the Mayor, Rahm has crafted a brilliant defense to any member facing a Rule 14 violation, just acknowledge you were wrong and say "I'm sorry" ! What works for Claypool should work for the lowly patrolman, right ? That New Trier education really paid off for Rahm in spades, he really is so much more than a great dancer and financial genius !

Just bring back Luberman.
He was just as clean as Claypool. Just kidding.

Is it me or do the bosses always get caught doing wrong at CPS and then they walk away?
Rahm has such a classy way of hiring the brightest people who all end up with arrests and indictments and that’s only the CPS.

With all the misconduct that is apparent in this situation at the least Claypool should be pulled from any
Financial decisions regarding the CPS. If this sound familiar just think back when Barbra Bird Bennet was allowing no bid contracts
To her buddies at her former employer. And she was getting a kickback.......

What is Claypool getting? Or is it just sitting waiting for him to move on to get the cash?
This is sad and crazy we are reviewing another CPS boss over the same kind of actions.....

This is the same kind of story Rahm came up with when he was covering up for Bill Clinton's raping women in the 90's, Botb Emanuel and that piece of shit ABC News anchor George Stephonopoulos (?) were the main architcitects of Clinton's smear tactics of defaming the accusers of the predator President. Maybe I should add allegedly the architects. Remember, the Presidents a good guy, if something happened, it was a mistake and we should forget about it. Just think about all the good he's done. They brought up Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court, dirty Republicans, on and on.
The next thing coming out of City Hall and Board of Ed Headquarters will be dirt on the IG. Dirty up the accuser and all of a sudden the facts don't matter. Typical Rahm politics

What, Rahm take a hit for another bad decision at the always failing unrepairable CPS ?

Maybe we won’t find Forests fingerprints on any unsupervised cookie jar at the perennial hemorrhaging CPS.
There was a time when Claypool was a pretty decent reform manager with some good decision making.
But FOUR - yes, 4 pensions and lucrative financial options later... wuh hoppin?
Start meddling into city finances and secret affairs and you either get the anointment or you get the force out.
Obviously he’s playing along the Chicago Way .

One has to wonder what this city or state would be like if Paul Vallas were the Mayor or governor.

Too bad Rahm The Dickish doesn’t feel that way when a copper makes a mistake and is deemed automatically guilty by the various offices he put in place as well as the so called Chicago press. Many Officers that have “sterling” records and career reputations do not get that same consideration when a mistake is made.

Would this "misstep" by Claypool, which puts taxpayers on the hook for over $1 Million fall into the category of "Walls of Silence"? Apparently Blue Walls of Silence are not the only Walls in Chicago politics and government. And if Rahm and Claypool think they can manipulate this Inspector General, they are in for a very Rude Awakening. Nick Schuler is not a Hack, as in the case of the Inspector General for the City Colleges of Chicago. Schuler is a no nonsense former Jesuit Seminarian, who came from a Chicago Police family. He joined the Chicago Police Department and rapidly rose to the rank of Sergeant. He then quit the police department to go to law school full-time. Schuler is not one to compromise what he knows to be the truth. Stay Safe and remember, Rahm has your back! (Like he had McCarthy's back) Baby "G"

Let a police officer make a mistake and they come to judgement immediately. There is no wait for an investigation. Punish the officer immediately. Imagine if a peon attempted to instruct an investigation. The media would have a field day. Could this be a "code of silence" among the Mayor, Claypool, and the Board of Education. How many teachers do you think Claypool fired for making a "mistake in judgement"? He should be terminated immediately. Claypool is doing Rahm's dirty work, so board will do nothing.

On the WGN news, 12/7/17 at 1700 hrs.,it "quotes" the Inspector General as indicating in a "13 Page Investigative Report" that Forrest Claypool.... "Engaged in a FULL BLOWN cover up," - "completely lied" - "falsified documents" within his full report.

What did Rham 9.5 have to say about the 13 Page Investigative Report which concluded that he "resign" ... "Forrest acknowledged his 'mistake' that's a sign of 'character' and he apologized... there's two sides to every story.?!"

Quick! JVD get on TV and simply 'apologize.'
According to Rham (who knew about, but hid the video to save his re-election)
that's a sign of 'character' and ALL SHOULD BE FORGIVEN.

Like SCC has repeatedly indicated... "TWO SETS OF RULES?!"
