Some 'Splainin' to Do

Interesting:

Why would a Public Defender need a gun? All of their clients are as pure as the driven snow, right?

Some 'Splainin' to Do, SCC?

More like who's been shittin'
the bull on whom?

Cook County Public Defenders
have badges and carry pistols?

How in the sky-high fuck was
that allowed to happen?

They SURE as shit AREN'T going
to chase down and take their errant
clientele into custody.

And we don't want to hear shit from
them about what they do serves a
vital law enforcement function.

We also don't want to hear shit from
them about what they do is dangerous.

Strip them of their badges and weapons
and let the Court Service Officers or
Sheriff's Police Officers provide their
protection.

Are the public defenders allowed to carry
in the courthouses?

Are they sworn to take law enforcement/
public safety action?

If one of them happens to get into a shooting,
will Cabrini Kim swear, avow and attest that
she will flip the contents of THEIR underwear
drawer to secure a conviction for harming one
of her peoples/folkses?

Are PD's "peace officers"?

I took a similar report for one when I worked in the NW suburbs years ago. I figured it was one of his clients too, and if it wasn't, it one day would be.

Hmmm. Aren't most public defenders rabid leftist social justice warriors? How can one of those high-minded lefties ever justify owning a gun? Why, they all seem to believe that guns are just killing machines, inclined to go off randomly wreaking havoc wherever they go which is why all guns must be removed from the general public.

Can't see any reason a public defender would need a badge, the gun? Different question. Let him/her have their own firearm which they can buy with their own money. Don't care for defense lawyers much but they have to deal with the same buttwipes the Police do so......
(Isn't this actually an admission that some people may need to be shot?)

If you are not going to use them, and work on them, why bring them with you?

I don't think anyone is reading this.

It is an investigator, not the actual lawyer. They are basically private investigators for the Pub Def office.

That badge is not for a Pub Def investigator.

It would seem to me 2nd City Cop supports legal gun ownership, especially for those with a job, so I believe that investigator would be entitled to a gun (as much as anyone else). But his a lump of kitty litter for letting it get stolen by the Amish or whoever.

I can tell you, if I had to go around asking people about the stuff the Pub Def works on (and the police and the ASAs), I'd want a gun.

That's an old school "Flash Badge". A Chicago tradition. Everyone from elevator operators to newsboys had them. Not issued by the county that's for sure. Judges, funeral directors, aldermanic assistants, state lawmakers staffs.....carry em. I could write a book about all the flash badges I've had flashed at me. Actually posessing one of these flash badges is a good way to get shot, thus the pistola.

Dept of finance meter maids got big badges too!
Alderman are considered "pease officers" and have big badges and big guns although the only one that has ever "qualified" with a firearm is Ald Burke who is a regular at the range.
Maybe the I Team could figure this all out? And maybe they could figure how Chuck "the Skunk" shoots out of his ass.

Wrong on all accounts, SA's and PD's cannot carry guns and are not Issued badges. If they have a star/badge, they had it made themselves. The highest ranking LE in the county is the Medical Examiner. That is the only offIce whIch can rule a death to be a homicIde.

Before I retired one part of my job was to set policy on who could be armed in restricted buildings. At one point I received info that the state of Illinois, county of Cook and city of Chicago had 142 non Police agencies who were armed. That doesn't count anyone who had the title of Police/Deputy/Corrections Officer or the Part time/Auxiliary guys that some burbs have more of than full time P.O.s. Add the dozens of Federal agencies authorized to carry and you would at times think the buttons came in the bottom of a box of Cracker jack Most carry a star in this neck of the woods not a badge or shield and are deemed Peace Officers for one reason or another. States atty. investigator, Public defender investigator, Metropolitan water reclamation investigator (my favorite) ARDC investigator etc.etc.,etc.the list goes on.I had a laugh trying to explain to my wife and daughter the fact that some goof that shows you a badge might not be the Police and to be on guard unless they were in a marked car. I will bet he/she had the button the firearm and the files of who he was assigned to speak to in the field and left it all in the briefcase in the car when he got home. Back before concealed carry it was a way for the connected to be able to carry and have the status. Many of them are legit ( retired P.O. with a call) and might have need to be armed.Ask the parking guys at the United center or the doormen on Rush street how many different buttons they see from those looking for that boy scout special...does this do me any good Pal ? An old Police joke went...You're so cheap you flash your button in a pay toilet !

When Shakespeare had one of his characters state ''Let's kill all the lawyers,'' it was the corrupt, unethical lawyers he was referring to. Shakespeare's exact line ''The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers,'' was stated by Dick the Butcher in ''Henry VI,'' Part II, act IV, Scene II, Line 73. Dick the Butcher was a follower of the rebel Jack Cade, who thought that if he disturbed law and order, he could become king. Shakespeare meant it as a compliment to attorneys and judges who instill justice in society.

Let's be fair here, the gun is pretty easy to explain. This is Gangland Chicago we're talking about, public defenders are often tasked by the state with defending entry level gangbangers whose homies might blame the PD rather than the mountain of evidence. Many of them just want to ensure that due process is adhered to...the real headline-whore SJWs are all in private practice since that's where the money and connections are.

Can't say as much about the badge. I can think of a few reasons a PD might want one, but they'd do better with one that didn't look like it came from a box of Cracker Jacks. Seriously, the 19th century called and they want their badge back.

OT 2:59pm - The highest ranking peace officer in Cook County is the Medical Examiner. Illinois has 102 counties. In the 101 other counties than Cook, the highest ranking law enforcement officer is corner, which is an elected position. Also, maybe the PD Inv. got certified to have carry conceal.

No reason for a PD to have a badge, especially shaped like a star- which should only be issued to police officers. They have an ID card- that's all they need. They have no police authority or function- why do they get to have a play badge- to pretend?

Again. Those flash badge stars are not issued by the County. Google Cook County Public Defender Badge. Some badge company sells these and ASA badges online, and mails em to their residences. One of a thousand orher flash badges marketed to big shots to wave around. Carrying one of these is a great way to get shot.

There’s far too many within the ranks of the CPD that fit that profile, many of those wear white shirts.
