Rifle Murder

West side:
  • Two men are dead, and two others were wounded Thursday in shootings on the South and West sides, Chicago police said.

The fatal attacks happened Thursday morning in the Lawndale and Greater Grand Crossing neighborhoods.

Shortly after 10 a.m., a person on a bicycle pulled a rifle from a backpack and fatally shot a 32-year-old man who was who was sitting in a vehicle in the 1300 block of South Troy Street.
A rifle in a backpack? And no one in the neighborhood noticed? What did they think it was?

Officer the aclu has warned you not to conduct searches for personal safety. If your safety does not count, how can an officer keep the community safe given the prohibitions regarding street stops and searches for weapons. Search an individual without reasonable articulable suspicion and you face severe discipline and set into motion a rightful transfer of wealth via social justice minded attorneys to the esteemed criminals in the hood.

Investigative Stop Reports (ISR) were created to empower gang members shooting up the community and encourage/protect blatant criminal activity in general. Remember you cannot search based on a hunch but beat officers routinely conduct hunch lab missions. And make sure your cameras are synced up.

10 a.m.? Most people are at work. Children should be state run education facilities. Isn't 010 one of the prototype district which received shotspotters and an insane amount of public surveillance cameras in one of those imitation CPIC war rooms? Lots of bang for all those contracted bucks. Bang! Bang! Its just a g-thang.

Total failure of the “shot spotter” technology recently installed in 010. Didn’t go off and once they reviewed the recordings, it was obviously shots fired. Bosses called to complain, as if being notified of the shots would have prevented asshole from getting kilt.

He keeps saying, you can carry guns, narcotics and even a medium size sword in those packs. He's knows its fucked up for us, but he'll point to a guy with a back pack and say, he'd be stopped, or look at that, he's probably got a gun. He was a good cooper and is a great guy.

We vaguely recall an "urban youth social organization"
member who would do shit like lay in wait for his targets
disguised as a pile of cardboard boxes in the alley.

Dude was kind of prolific too.
It was kinda funny that other so called
BEE-AY-DEE/"Ain't Scareda Nuttin'"
m/fers being genuinely shook when
when a rash of their den-mates were
being found chopped to human kindling...

Cut-down folding stock AK if we recall correctly?

...Anybody else out there recall such?

Yeah, that "rifle in a backpack" caught my eye too. Some commenters suggested duffel bags or golf bags, but wouldn't they be hard to carry on a bicycle?

Another thing that puzzles me, and perhaps the gentlemen in blue can answer it: this case involves someone who "fatally shot a 32-year-old man who was who was sitting in a vehicle..."

I don't know how many stories of read of someone just sitting in a car, then someone else pulls up alongside and shoots them. I'm not seeing the connection here. Is this a gang thing? Excuse my ignorance: this isn't anything I'm used to.

They thought it was a flag pole, with a folding stock, and he was just looking for a flag. Turned out he wasn't as patriotic as they thought he was.

So... you and your idiot uncle think people shouldn't be allowed to carry backpacks? People act like the laws have changed dramatically . You've never been able to just go inside of someone's backpack because you felt like it. Don't forget 010 has body cams, makes it even harder to be doing old school searches. These old timers are really funny with their war stories, "I would have done this .. I would have done that.." Well.. if you did that in this anti police environment.. you would also be fired or in jail. Next time your uncle wants to reminisce.. remind him that this isn't 1992.. every asshole on the street has a 1080p quality camera in their pocket. Coppers who are smart enough will still find a way to check that bag for officer safety.. those who aren't , probably shouldn't be making stops anyway.

Over 30 rounds fired from multiple different guns including AR15. Not a peep from shotspotter. Which has been active in 10 going off in that area for the past week. But that particular incident...crickets. Super high tech there Rahm. Glad we spent millions on it. Wouldn’t have mattered anyway, the 30 second delay gives shithead time enough to fly through 20 red lights by the time we get there.

Your know, I thought I was the only guy who has relatives who use to be on the job saying the same thing. Almost the same comments, "Look at that guy on the bike, he should be stopped and that back pack check out" and another TF-4 relative goes bonkers over the usual suspects and their back packs. I'm beginning to think we just don't pay attention to back packs because its the style of our time, however, listening to the old timers, they just may have a point, we are not paying attention too.
