"De-escalation" Kills

  • The chair of the criminal justice department of Madison College says the research he conducted for his master’s thesis shows de-escalation policies are a valuable tool in an officer’s toolbox, but argues they’re not the best tool.

De-escalation policies require officers to slow things down and attempt to lessen or avoid force on all calls.

“The agencies without de-escalation policies, the number of officers killed and assaulted were dramatically lower than the agencies with de-escalation policies in place,” Brian Landers, author of the study tells WISC-TV.

Landers’ study looked at metropolitan law enforcement agencies around the country; some have de-escalation policies while others do not. It used data from more than 75,000 officers over a five-year period.

“I’ve had officers tell me that they are forced with decisions out on the street that go against every facet of training and instinct of officer safety from fear they are going to be disciplined because the policy is telling them that they should not use force,” Landers tells WISC-TV.
The numbers are, to be frank, horrendous:
  • “Overall an officer working in a de-escalation agency, by my study, was twice as likely to be killed in the line of duty and 10 times more likely to be injured in the line of duty,” Landers [said].
The article doesn't cover it, but we've got a pretty good guess as to why.
  • When there is a  Police/public encounter of a confrontational or violent nature (which IS NOT a majority of encounters), a positive outcome is reliant on Officers immediately controlling the situation. Sometimes, that means talking loudly, forcefully, directly to get people to do exactly as you say, when you say it and how you direct it.
Which is why liberals, snowflakes and entitled people dislike it so much. And why they're trying to force police departments to use it - because it removes control from the Officers.

You get killed in line of duty. Family gets 100k and pension. You kill assailant his family gets millions. Money wise, who do you think politicians want to see dead.

De escalation works great 99% of the time.

The same 99% of the time you are dealing with normal people.

Shit...
Any large Democrat-controlled Urban Center
Copper with a street degree (10+ year otj)
knows that the Progressive wet-dream of
de-escalation as Law Enforcement policy is
purpose built to strip away aggression and
assertiveness from The Policeman.

In addition, the policy of de-escalation is
also purpose built to instill the doubt and
hesitation that HAS gotten MANY Policemen
unnecessarily injured, maimed and killed
in the reckless pursuit of "Sanctity of Life."

Let's from here on out, call the policy of
"Sanctity of Life" for what it really is.

It's the artfully crafted, intentionally
obtuse, semantically greasy, syntactically
slippery anti-Police jackpottery that's all
the rage in America's large Democrat controlled
urban centers.

we settled on donkey dung as an apt descriptive...

"De-escalation" comes wrapped in a nasty package of
race and culture grievance politics and craven pant-
shitting pandering promulgated as sound Law Enforcement
Policy in a m/fer's world where the sky most assuredly
ain't blue.

The madness passed off as "Sanctity of Life" is only
for the protection of the vicious, violent, throw-away,
shit-doo-doo m/fers whose savagery clog up so much
bandwidth on the evening news.

"De-escalation," is THEIR revenge against The Police.

The violent, death-loving criminal swing-dicks
have been given leave to stride this city like
natural men while The Police are being beaten
into a corner like the violent, death-loving
criminal swing-dicks used to be.

It seems that society has come to agreeable terms
with this being the new status quo.

If The Police are your enemy, you'd be smart to
be mindful of whom you'll be forced to come to
terms of uneasy accommodation (if not flat out surrender)
with.

Protect yourselves from THEM first and always.

Ther powers that be don't mind springing for
an honors funeral. It's cheaper than that
"cush" pension and "sweet early retirement"
you're trying to get to.

Besides, they get to crowd your grieving family members
off to the side so they can wipe false tears
for bright TV lights and speechify about how
this city overrun with evil shit-doo-doo
peoples and folkses is grateful for your sacrifice.

Give them the double-handful of dick-all they deserve.

Go home to your families and loved ones
no matter who you have to beat, run-over or shoot.

With all due justification laid out in the Illinois
Criminal Code.

The powers that be want to make the prospect of
judgement by the 12 in Cook County as terminal
as being borne away by 6 for Policemen.

Because The Police are the problem.
Right?

Police Like You Have No Friends.

CPD , write a case report on every domestic battery and assault . It is important to show the violence in Chicago . It may help a fellow Officer that is later attacked by an offender , it will show he /she is violent offender , documented by Family members . Put down children or others present as witnesses . No more 1-F

...Another mechanism by which to
"Defund The Police."

Paying for an honors funeral and your survivor(s)
getting your pension are the "Legacy Expenses"
Rahm Emanuel is looking to curtail.

In the name of achieving "fiscal efficiencies" of course.

Kinda like he boasted about stealing medical
insurance from our retirees.

When Rahm turns 75, we want to see his family
strip his clothes from him and lay him on a bed
of branches in the woods per the nasty eugenics
policy put forth by his "medical ethicist" brother.

You can presume that Mother and Father Emanuel
are swaddled in silks and linens and getting the best
of platinum level care while you and yours are being
Intentionally left with zilch.

My kids THINK they have a say in what's what in the house. I have explained to them that they don't and there is no problem. My wife continually asks for their input on things they shouldn't really have input on. They always challenge her and their is chaos until I step in and restore the hierarchy again. We are seeing this play out nationally now.

Follow the rules. Keep your hands to yourself. Stay in your lane. Then, no one gets their phone taken away.

Many liberals have lived privileged and sheltered lives. They prefer to view the world as they wish it was rather than as it really is. In their idealistic mind, they prefer to dream that if everyone talks to each other in nice pleasant tones, everyone will be able to resolve every situation peacefully without the need for force or violence. They also have never been in a drug/gun/gang infested neighborhood where violence and force is a way of life. They'd be torn up in no time. I'd say the over/under is 10 minutes. Bottom line is that police training and tactics should NOT be dictated by the unhinged fantasies of some privileged liberal class. Policing must be what is legal, constitutional and effective. If its not, life and limb are at stake. Hopefully the world will come back to reality at some point.

i had an off-duty encounter the other night. several calls were made by my neighbors and myself describing the minor disturbance.

Aside from the response time being unusually long (I get it, sometimes we hope everyone is gone and it'll be a 19b), the midnight officers in 019 who showed up were just sad, defeated and scared the moment they got out of the car.

The first words from one of the officers were, "it's my first night on the job, I'm not sure what's going on..."

But the other officer, drooping shoulders, no eye contact, made no effort to take control. No voice, no stance, no presence.

It's as though they just hoped everyone would leave them alone and not talk to them.

It was bizarre.

I just made twenty years. I'm still not the type of guy who wants to criticize any of my fellow officers. I kept my mouth shut. But, come on, you're not going to 19p your way through your whole career.

The best way to de-escalate a ghetto affair is to not stick your nose in a ghetto affair and it's all ghetto affairs that are the basis for the whole de-escalation protocol.
The moment you encounter the agitated maniac, de-escalation has ended.
There's no room for logic with Special Ed's Hug-a-Thug Program.
Can't stop what's coming but you can stop showing up too soon.

(OT) Strap yourselves in here we go:
3 Chicago cops’ story of parking garage brawl unravels, suspect freed

http://chicago.suntimes.com/news/the-watchdogs-3-chicago-cops-story-of-parking-garage-brawl-unravels/

Excerpt:Baskins, then 28, an admitted former gang member with a criminal record that includes a felony burglary conviction, was accused of badly beating a plainclothes Chicago cop in a parking garage that day and taking his gun in a case that’s now unraveled amid questions about the actions of the officer and two other cops who were with him.

Read the story have your "bullshit" anti-police dishonest meters on full charge to cipher, here is the first training class for the 45% increse in copa "investigators" to hang more police on mantel:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNgv4Jp6ipc

So the sergeant suffers a traumatic brain injury and can not completely remember incident, bottom line a gang banging felon goes free, now how much will the city payoff this thug, and then the civil suits which the city does not indemnify us against!

For your own future stay out of ghetto nonsense on/off duty, wtf is wrong getting involved trying to do your job when the animals win? the dishonest 24/7 media will bastardize you, ruin your family, Eddie will quickly strip you and may even suspend you putting you in a "no pay" "no health care" status!

Want to keep your job-family-freedom-pension-good name? Not to hard to do let the jungles do what the jungles throughout the world do, the strongest animal wins apply that to the people that hate the police and you will have a less stressful career!

God bless the police!

FOP your late on this.....
“We expect that the Officers currently listed on BOP #17-0189 will be paid time and one- half per the parameters of that same contract section,” the FOP said in a letter to Management and Labor Affairs. “We will encourage them to submit overtime slips for each day that they are improperly assigned. We will encourage them to file individual grievances if the overtime requests are denied.”

What about the nonsense going on with coppers hurt on the job and being assigned to non police positions? Where has your voice been FOP. Nothing but silence FOP. Coppers are asked to lock people out and FOP just leaves out to dry. Speak up FOP! I want all my dues back FOP.

With the new use of force policy You can no longer shoot a person who has committed a forcible felony and is no longer a threat. So under this new policy, if you witness an offender shoot up a mall and kills a family and then he drops the gun he is no longer a threat. So if you shoot him while he is making his escape, you lose ur job since you went against CPD policy; however, at the state level you are fine. WTH?

This is a story about BAD DECISIONS. Even though the sergeant's attorney claims that the sgt. showed no alcohol in his system, it would appear that the two patrolmen with him consumed heavy amounts of alcohol (they admitted to four drinks apiece).
Lots of people who read about that incident when it occurred years ago felt that parts of the story had been left out. Surprised this case hung around the courts for this long before being tossed.

The moment you start to think about de-escalation instead of "I just might have to kill this motherfucker", is the moment that your guard starts to come down and you are more vulnerable to getting your ass kicked, or even killed.

If the asshole you have confronted wants to de-escalate that's his move. Just don't trust him.

Either way, go home safe.

Being on camera does not take away discretion. You can still give someone a pass anytime you think it's the right thing to do. No one looks at the camera video unless there is a beef and most people don't beef if they are given a break. I have never let wearing a camera take away my discretion or stop me from giving a pass that I felt was warranted

Always have at the forefront of your mind that you
might be forced to kill a m/fer and be reconciled

De-escalation begins when YOU are the one left

NOT them...

Everything else is pretense and bullshit.

Protect yourselves from THEM.
