Rats!

No, we mean literally. How old is the 001 District building?

Rat traps - not in the alley, not in the garage. In the building. The men's room to be exact. Rats walking around, bold as brass, like they own the place.

We heard that some watches have started naming the rats. Then they had to start numbering them because the rats were all named Rahm.

You should see the 010th District. Rats and mice running around all over the place. The CAPS and Detective's office are constantly trapping and killing them. It's pretty disgusting.

Rahm, Rahm Jr., Rahm II, Rahm III, Lil Rahm....kinda like George Foreman's kids all being named George. Coincidentally, the rats all have Rahm's eyes. Small and beady.

When headquarters and 1st district were at 11th and State the rats were so big we would put our spare uniform on them and send them out to walk our beat while we played Poker in the basement locker room.. Worked great for a while but we eventually got caught because the rats kept showing up to roll call unshaven and then mouthing off at the WC when he bitched. Damn rats.

The 001st district is horrible to deal with. Rude desk personnel, shakey and scared white shirts, and detention aids that move slower then molasses in January with no friendliness or sense of humor. I dread every time I have to go to that shitty station.

Oh, and out of curiosity, have they ever gotten around to fixing their sally port yet? I mean, it has only been for over a year that it has been broken. Funny how a district that has such high standards for visiting p.o.'s, can't seem to get around to fixing the one thing that most of us are there for to begin with.

Maybe some P.O.'s think it's not so bad, but I tell everyone I come in contact with not to ever bid over there. It's the type of place where they only act friendly and professional when Brass or scum politicos are around.

One bit of advice, do not try using your sidearms for pest control.

If you must, try pistol shotshells. Expect it to be one of your last acts as an employed CPD officer (unless you are seriously clouted).

Projection: Chicago's police pension fund will be broke in 2021

http://chicagocitywire.com/stories/511130434-projection-chicago-s-police-pension-fund-will-be-broke-in-2021

Excerpt:
At the end of 2020, LGIS estimates that the Policemen’s Annuity and Benefit Fund of Chicago will have less than $150 million in assets to pay $928 million promised to 14,133 retirees the following year.

Fund assets will fall from $3.2 billion at the end of 2015 to $1.4 billion at the end of 2018, $751 million at the end of 2019, and $143 million at the end of 2020, according to LGIS.

Calling out Kevin Graham. mike lappe,Kenny hauser now this should be #1 issue on contract and pension boards mind! Propaganda maybe, but knowing the corruption the mayor and the 50 are involved in would strongly agree this is truth!

Eddie burke your head of the finance for entire city and never call out the billions thrown away to rahms friends and family, never say anything about police but yet you carry "our star" all the time and carry a weapon whenever you want to, how about taking care, standing for the men and women in blue? You stand up for the illegal invaders, like rahm and the others how about us sir? Eddie your the city "historian" are you writing another book about how the city is being destroyed by rahm and the other elected? history will show this city finished!!

They are not rats, they are illegal (undocumented) rodents. You all need to show more compassion. They moved in seeking a better life and should be humanly live trapped and released into the outdoors after a good meal. After all is said, the City of Chicago is sanctuary city and the kindness should also apply to our four legged friends.

If they're trapping rodents then it must mean The District is desperate for CompStat activity.

They should make those tent style glue traps out of 4' x 8' sheets of plywood and put them along corridor to the back door to catch Merit rats ducking early.
Rodents are instinctively intelligent.
Merits are not.

I would be more concerned about the bedbug infestation in the lockup. Not likely you will accidentally bring a rat home on your uniform. Bedbugs, however, need only to stick to your pant leg and you're screwed.

Wouldn't it be a good idea for Kevin graham and the FOP to respond to this. Have an accounting firm check these figures and do a report and present it to the members. The Pension Fund has actuaries that can investigate this report and either agree or disagree with it
