Sheriff Shooting (UPDATE)
Off-duty shooting in Englewood claims the life of another rocket-scientist:
- An off-duty Cook County sheriff’s deputy fatally shot a 17-year-old robbery suspect at an Englewood hair salon Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
The boy, Rashad Wells, of the 6900 block of South Harvard Avenue, was pronounced dead on the scene, according to the medical examiner's office.
Two people entered Marquita’s Hair Salon, at 132 W. 69th St., around 1:40 p.m. and announced a robbery, police said.
The female off-duty deputy shot one of the robbers and the other one fled, according to Cara Smith, chief policy officer for the sheriff's office.
As usual, the family is up in arms:
- A woman who identified herself as the mother of the person shot, who would not spell her name, said she believed her son had been at school.
"My baby was coming from school. I know he was. I dropped him off this morning. To go to school," she said.
"So they shot the wrong person?" A TV reporter asked during a brief interview with relatives who asked media to gather after yelling at police.
"I wasn't here," she said.
The community is angry...at the wrong department:
- Afterward, relatives yelled at police and reporters — for telling lies, for leaving the body on the ground, for having shot the boy in the first place, for locking up black men but not white men.

We're told there are also numerous videos, Instagram and Facebook posts. That sure is an interesting school he goes to, handing out pistols to juveniles.

Looking the second photo, I would say this pillar of the community suffered from an "elongated thorax"--- basically this torso was incredibly long, and his legs appear to be malformed and not length as that another human being or the rest of his body. I have seem several cases of this in the Austin area and the englewood, Gresham and rose land areas to name a few.

A real Sheriff would have commended the deputies actions and submitted her name for various awards of recognition given by different agencies/organizations. (Top Cop from US DOJ, IACP, Natl. Sheriff's Assn., etc.)

Hate crimes against the city's first responders happen every day and all day long. Just because the public and the media say they are offended or say the police did something wrong doesn't mean the administration doesn't have to make something up to appease them. If you are competent in what you do you can articulate why you do it. Like use of force. If someone doesn't comply to a police order, use of force is going to be used against you. I would like to hear the administration say that as a competent leader address the public and media instead of saying oh we will change the policy because you criminals don't like what the police do to you.

Obama's, self defense immunization statue went into effect here. Obama’s bill, SB 2386, prevented the aggressor (or his or her family, heirs and estate) from suing the person who had used justified force for damages incurred as a result of the use of that force. Though not a “Stand Your Ground” measure, Obama’s legislation was likewise designed to protect those acting in self-defense–“to prevent victims of crimes from being victimized again in civil court. (Only thing he ever did right)
NOTE:
Of course, this is Cook County......the family will go after the County because #1 They can't sue the officer who is protected under law, and #2 The county has the money and they will gladly pay for those future votes. So if you think its so easy, man up, and try out. The SWAT selection is legit!! The "favorites" are being allowed to shoot hostages and were told it's ok. Just don't do it too many times. Zero documentation. Guys "accidentally" shooting on the firing line. Some how "GI Joe" ended up number 1. Then you have an ND unloading your SIMMS rifle. Shhhhh!!
But it's ok. It's all legit boys and girls. And speaking of girls. They are not allowed. The "favorites" who were shooting no shoots during the graded scenarios made the team. The only girl who made it through everything and didn't shoot any no shoots was not chosen. Why? "Because SWAT is a man's job." Check out the videos on the graded exercises. Hey SCC, looks like the media is scrolling again..... I left a comment last week about Tom Dart's merit board being illegal constituted per the appeals court ruling... Now the story is all over the news and Dart might have to rehire over 100 employees.

Outraged Cincinnati cops received an apology from the mayor of the Ohio city after his office inadvertently issued a proclamation naming a day in honor of a cop killer.
Mayor John Cranley issued the apology Thursday, saying that the proclamation never should have been approved, Fox19 Cincinnati reported Friday.
“I am sorry that my office, that we mistakenly issued a proclamation on behalf of a man that killed-- murdered-- Sonny Kim,” said Cranley, according to the station.
He said the proclamation quickly was retracted.
Prosecutors say Trepierre Hummons ambushed Officer Kim, a 48-year-old father of three, on a Cincinnati street on June 19, 2015. After being shot, Kim wrestled away Hummons’ gun. Another cop who responded to the scene shot and killed Hummons, who was 21.
Cincinnati happens to be honoring Kim and other fallen officers Friday, the New York Post reported.
The proclamation declared June 1 “Tre Day” in Cincinnati and said in part that the sacrifice of Hummons “will save lives of children for generations to come,” the station reported.
A cop on Thursday posted a photo of the proclamation on Facebook page of Cincinnati’s police union, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported.
“Am I the only one who sees something wrong with this,” the cop said.
“If this is real, something must be done… I’m having trouble finding the words,” another cop responded.
Ronald Hummons sought the proclamation honoring his son to raise awareness of child abuse and mental illness, the station reported.
Cranley said his communications director approved the request without notifying him, according to the station.
The staffer then mailed Hummons the proclamation, which was stamped with the mayor’s signature.
The head of the police union said he didn’t fault Cranley for the screw-up, Fox19 reported.

Set her up. Get someone to video from a distance with Audio. Public Way = No Expectation of Privacy and no violation of the IL Eavesdropping Law if I recall it correctly..
Then drive over to City Hall and go up to the Dept of Finance office and ask to see the Director of Internal Security Operations (yes, we actually have our own serenity 'force').
I hate the ones in my department that make us all look like shitheads because of the way they behave.
They are talking to the same law firm that is representing SWAT against the city. EEOC complaint. And another cheating scandal. SWAT cheating scandal. Media is investigating.
This Dept has no integrity or honor. I never expected SWAT to be legitimate either. All these tests are rigged. Your best bet is to leave here and go with a better quality agency.
Districts are short supervisors while sergeants are assigned to Evidence recovered property ,records division ,crime lab and caps office .
All could be supervised by civilians . We need help in Patrol Division now ,

The SWAT team is just like being selected to any other team. You pass the tests but if the team doesn't like you for some reason(arrogant, weird, stupid, etc) you don't get in. That's why they will never get a pay grade bump, it's not a true objective test.

You are joshing with these photos are you? This couldn't be the young student who people on the news said was well know in the neighborhood. Maybe the reporter should have asked, "Well know for/as what?"
The sad part is the owner of the business will probably have customers who will stop coming out of fear of reprisals or just plain fear. Within a year this beauty shop will probably be vacant.
