Write Off These Commies

This is the current magazine cover of the CTU:

Here's Lesson #1 - don't do drugs, don't carry a knife when you do drugs, don't cut up squad car tires and stab squad car windshields. Or is that another lesson that should have been taught at home?

The FOP ought to be seriously distancing themselves from these jackasses and anything they're involved in.

My wife is a teacher. She does not support this CTU propaganda. She has contacted CTU regarding their improper representation on so called social justice issues and misuse of union member funds for socialist propaganda. She is so disgusted with this she no longer wants to be part of the CTU. CTU does not represent their members opinions of the police.

As a teacher, I apologize for this. Plenty of blame to go around for McDonald's life and death, but I don't trust Karen Lewis's bias and was not happy to see this. Our job is to teach students how to think for themselves, not what to think. I don't need to read the issue to guess at the loaded discussion questions; that cover says it all.

I'm done with teachers. Some claim "the leadership" is the cause of all this, but the truth is "Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act." i'm done excusing teachers, the fact is thousands of these black youths leave CPS unable to read or write. They leave with a belief that they are owed something. Then these youths go out and commit crimes and the police are blamed, well maybe if all these teachers were more committed to teaching math and English than how "the man" has held them back then we wouldn't have to fight arrestees or argue with children. The truth is, if there is racism in the system, then it is the teachers who are responsible. Karen Lewis and her minions are too busy marching against police officers who take lawful action to fix the problem schools in the primarily minority neighborhoods. Fuck the teachers union.

It is a constant battle to "re-educate" my kids when they get home from their public school. I have talked to my kids from the day they were born and explained life from a working man's perspective. Sometimes they come home laughing at the absurd position their teacher has taken. Sometimes it is more subtle, and they are unaware of the creep to the left they have been given.

I want my children to grow up with both sides explained to them. I want them to make their own choices. I do not want them programmed from their first day of school. I do not want them indoctrinated into the left wing, progressive mess that threatens to ruin our country. Their YOUR kids, not 'the village's'. Take the time to get them started down the right path.

A friend of mine was so sick of breaking up fights in her south side kindergarten class and of CTU crazyness that she quit mid year after 10+ years. It was common for her kids to use chairs as weapons.

Maybe the liberals are trying to help our country. Perhaps they see a generation from parts of the city worse than anything we've seen in this country and they know there is nothing that can be done. Make it hard for the police to patrol the ghetto and the ghetto will be forced to take care of itself.

Or maybe BLM and the ACLU are influenced by gangs. With police out of the way, the criminal element is free to run the street as they see fit. Six months of protesting helps the gangs more than attacking a single police officer.

If the teachers and their union want to support these types of anti-Police issues, then so be it. But we then should in no way support teachers in any of their needs or endeavors. If they need help, let them call upon the young perpetrators of violence whom they see fit to support and employ. If there is a faction of teachers who don't support the unions anti-Police rhetoric, we certainly have not heard from them. In this case, silence equates to support of the union position. Apparently teachers do not object to their union spending their dues on wages to employ the likes of young protesters who are also "allowed" to miss class to carry on the unions businesss. As such, the teachers must live with the consequences of allowing their union to do so. Support requires support!

This is so embarrassing. I'm a CPS teacher and a CTU member - my union's position in no way reflects my position, for what it's worth. One of the ironic things about the Laquan McDonald lesson plan is that most non-selective CPS high school students would say that it's boring and too much work. Also, this plan mentions that "the lesson suggested below assumes that you have already established classroom norms,
agreements and routines for discussion." Uh, no. CPS students don't like participating in class discussions and certainly don't follow "norms," such as coming on time, using polite language, bringing supplies to class and staying awake.

The union keeps insisting that their anti-police, pro-social justice bullshit is necessary to build the consensus we need for contract negotiation. But a lot of us disagree - "us" being the white and latino CPS teachers, for the most part. I think the CTU is taking this angle in an attempt to build up public support, since most of the general public thinks we're pigs. At this point, however, the few cops we've got left on our side are those we're married or related to. To all other Chicago cops, please accept my apology on behalf of those of us in the CTU who are sane and normal. All we normal people want is a fucking contract.

Karen Lewis has always been left of Lenin. Yes, she led a successful strike against Rahm, but the teachers were so fed up with his antics and contract proposals that a 5year old could have led them to that. She uses that as a springboard to spouse her leftist activist values instead of concentrating on her job and now the teachers are going to have to strike again. Teachers brough up there concerns about being anti police but were shot down by the union who stated that " it'd important for the union to be active in local social issues" and patted themselves for going down to Furgeson to protest. They failed to mention that the officer in Fergudon was cleared of any wrongdoing and failed to apologize to him and his family for the anguish the protest caused.

Teachers are wrongly accused all the time, would they want such treatment ? Would they want the future of a teacher wrongly accused of an incident that happened in the classroom to be decided by activist ?

Remember when the riots occurred when Officer Darrin Wilson shot the Strong Armed Robber in Ferguson Missouri last year. The Chicago Teachers Union not only sent down representatives to protest but they also sent down $750.00 worth of Pizza so the protesters could eat. Here is the problem, the union is mostly African American and out number the Whites by a large margin. There are many White Union Members who disagree with the union policy on this matter. Many teachers are married to Police Officers, Fire Fighters, Paramedics. Many of the White teachers are totally against what the union is doing regarding the BLM. However, they are caught between a rock and a hard place because, say what you want about Karen Lewis she fights for her membership thus she gets results. Remember, she got elected the first time because her whole campaign was aimed at getting more positions and representatives for the Black union and Hispanic membership. The person she beat for the presidency was a teacher by the last name of Lynch. Lynch got almost all of the white vote but lost her presidency because Lewis got all of the Black and Hispanic vote. When Lewis came up for reelection, Lynch again ran against her. The problem for Lynch was that Lewis got the union pay raises and additional benefits. Lynch lost not only the black vote but many white teachers also voted for Lewis. SSC you are so right that Dean Angelo and the whole FOP should distance themselves from her and the union. I can not believe that Angelo has not done so already. Again, say what you want about Lewis but SHE FIGHTS FOR HER MEMBERSHIP UNLIKE THE PRESENT FOP PRESIDENT. SHE NOT AFRAID TO GO TOE TO TOE WITH RAHM.

First I'd like to say I feel sorry for the teachers that don't like their union. It's like the police that don't really care for the way fop goes about doing things but for the teachers I think rahmy has a solution for that ctu, it's called bankruptcy. The cps is almost there and since it's a separate taxing body it can go belly up without hurting the city. Belly up means ctu contract nill, null and void. Don't think he won't do it. He knows he's f$$ked for that segment of the vote now and time won't erase it. F$$k me, F$$k you! Watch him do it! Thank you. Almost there.

I left Chicago and CPS in June after eight years in the system. I worked the gamut from a South SIde baby jail to Rogers Park to a Far NW Side elementary school, primarily working in bilingual education. Finally, I just couldn't deal with the absolute evil that goes on in the system as far as funding and leadership. The CTU takes about $50 per paycheck for dues whether a teacher joins or not, so most everyone does carry a Union card. Every school also has a CTU rep elected by the faculty, and in many schools they won't actually stand up and use their voice to defend the teachers who are indeed being abused by principals. Every month they publish a roll call for delegate meetings, and there are dozens of schools where the rep never attends a meeting.

While there are some positive things the Union has done, such as be the one of the few to stand up to Rahm, I washed my hands when I heard about the Jesse Jackson Thanksgiving robocall. It is unethical to bombard the constituency with political tripe that does not pertain to instruction in schools. If CTU has all these reserve funds, why are they channeling anything to help schools most in need?
Also, how often does JJ visit schools to personally witness the lack of resources and discipline in the schools? I had students who only came to school to start fights and get subsidized meals. For other students, school was the only time an adult ever paid them any attention, besides beating their butts. Mama cried poverty on buying notebooks, but she rolled up in an SUV with fresh hair and nails each week. I wouldn't send a child I despised to some of the CPS schools, and neither would any of the political players in Chicago.

Teachers are the pawns in the middle of this power struggle between City Hall and the CTU. I'd warn them that no one truly cares what happens to them or their positions come February and strike time.

There's a growing divide in the CTU. On one side are the black elementary school teachers + young lefty suburban white transplant teachers: they make up a majority of the delegates. There are roughly 10,000 CPS elementary school teachers versus 5.000 CPS high school teachers. This is why we hear CTU delegates referring to students as "their babies." On the other side of the CTU are the white and latino teachers - mostly high school level - who have lived and worked in Chicago for most of their lives: this is the minority of the delegates. These are also the teachers often married/related to cops. You can guess which side is fueling the support of "social justice" anti-police rhetoric. So frustrating and embarrassing.

3. When criminals commit burglary ,robbery ,domestic battery ,sell drugs , cause disturbances , shop lift ,vehicle thefts , Victims. Call 911 ,
Police Officers respond and arrest the offender . Nothing Racist about that .
4. Traffic Violations , learn how to drive. More police are assigned to high crime areas , so it makes sense , more people in high crime areas will receive traffic citations . Take a ride through high crime areas , vehicles without license plates , one license plate , no city sticker ,cracked windshield , no brake lights + driving through stop signs , around railroad gates. Driving under influence , no driver license ,no insurance etc
Nothing racist about doing our job . Many traffic stops result in drug or gun charges .
Poor women raped , children murdered because yes folks , many people of color were release early and struck again

There is something you need to watch. Friedrichs v. CTA this is a suit brought by California teacher Rebecca Friedrichs and forced member of the California Teacher's Association. She sued saying compelled union membership and it's dues violate the first amendment because they are political speech. The CTA freely admits this is the case. It was argued before The Supreme Court January 11, 2016. If Friedrichs wins, and depending on how the decision is worded this could end mandatory membership in public sector Unions.
If the pointed questions by the Judges are any indication Friedrichs has a strong case. Chicago teachers who disagree with The Chicago Teachers Union can tell them to stick it were the sun don't shine.

Teachers are supposed to wear red on Fridays to support their union. Some have decided to wear blue in support of the police because they do not support the "black lies matter" campaign of false blame that the union represents.

But first... Pull The Police out then

KAren Lewis has made anti-white comments in the past, calling for more black teachers and less white teachers. Her logic? The reason black kids are doing so poorly is they cannot relate to the white teachers. I say one of the reasons the black kids do so poorly is way too many teachers who come from Chicago State. I taught there for 10 years and it is nothing but a degree mill, both undergrad and graduate programs. They have been close to losing certification more then once. If you hold the students to a academic standard they either will not sign for your class or will complain about their grades which will result in the dean calling you. I have suspected they have changed grades in the past but could never prove it.

This coming from the same assholes who want to convince your high school aged kids, through a block of related subject matter, that Jon Burge and Company were torturers of black men. This proposition, regardless of the fact that neither Burge or any of his 'henchmen' have ever been charged with, let alone convicted of, such crimes.

Fuck Karen Lewis and any CTU employee who supports such a disgusting belief.

Yes, you are correct. The anti police group point to the money that was awarded to people in the civil courts. Reality time guys.

1/18/2016 05:09:00 AM
You are not talking reality here. Rauner never said no public sector unions. All he said is leave it up to the individual to join or not. There is a case before the US Supreme Court that will decide that by June. You can still have a union, you can still join and you can still pay dues and have them bargain for you. But, states that have passed laws where you have a choice, 85% of the members leave the union and they seem satisfied. If things were so bad for them they could always rejoin. But, you are correct, the alderman want to completely change the FOP contract and make it much easier to fire you. You then will have to appeal in the courts. That is probably going to happen Rauner or no Rauner.

Then you have this: Cook County state's attorney candidates talk about police shootings (Its behind paywall but here is some of this disgusting ignorant rhetoric! Cannot talk about the gang killings, blacks killing blacks lets focus on formerly hard working coppers not to smart is it?

Questions about how to handle police shootings in a post-Laquan McDonald Cook County took center stage Monday as the three candidates for the Democratic nomination for state's attorney appeared together at a Martin Luther King Jr. Day forum on community justice.

State's attorney Anita Alvarez and the two women vying to unseat her — Donna More and Kim Foxx — spoke at the Community Renewal Society's Faith in Action Assembly, where organizers pressed them on whether they would agree to a special prosecutor in all police shooting cases.

Alvarez, who has faced stiff criticism for her handling of the investigation into the fatal 2014 shooting of black teen McDonald by a white Chicago police officer, reiterated her opposition to a special prosecutor. She said the law requires "a legal conflict" in a case for the state's attorney to be replaced. "So it's not as easy as people think it is," Alvarez said.
She defended her record on police prosecutions. "Any officer who commits a crime should be held accountable," Alvarez said to a smattering of boos. "I've been doing it, I will continue to do it and there's no need for a special prosecutor."

Alvarez's opposition to the special prosecutor prompted the crowd of about 1,000 attendees from church congregations around Chicago and the suburbs to stand and pray in unison that God "transforms your heart and bends your mind toward justice."

More also said she would keep police prosecutions in-house at the state's attorney's office, saying she instead would create a section within the office where attorneys work only on those cases to avoid conflicts of interest with members of the Police Department. More also received the standing prayer.

I like to read this blog live away from this state but find it interesting the attacks on Chicago police everyday, by your bosses, your media, your so called elected officials (many who are criminals with reduced expunged sentences), Then today is your King day observance, then reading other obviously fictitious (but real) news stories how your states attorneys are meeting to discuss police shootings! yet they don't meet to discuss the black lies matter crew, and the blacks murdering blacks and innocent people all over your once great city! Being an officer in Chicago is unlike anywhere else now, never have I read so much negativity from local media beit papers, on tv, or social media talk about people perpetuating hate on the thin blue line!

When a major event happens such as a terrorist attack do the morons expect your badge carrying elected and the black lies matter group to respond? Because from all they do that would be the given request they deserve and need! Your FBI director said police are "fetal" you know what this si 1 item he is 110% correct about! Police in chicago like nowhere else are being beat on a daily basis into doing nothing but protecting each other and police families! Wonder how the officers that protect your mayor feel? Your mayor said he wanted children in Chicago treated like his kids, did he get the children tuition that he paid for to exclusive schools? did he take the "children" to Cuba to make them culturally aware? If he did not would that not be hypocritical? May God bless officers everywhere but may God shine his bright light of protection on Chicago police, and thanjk you to whoever does this blog working tirelessly!

And last I remember, this still is America, where kids should be taught about the abuses of agents of the state against citizens.

1/18/2016 10:20:00 AM

30 cops? I see your ability to count is on par with your ability to use rational thought. Teachers are able to get thousands of teachers and supporters out on the streets because they can strike, giving them nothing to do while they bitch and moan for more money to underperform. Cops can't strike. Cops had to work and go to court and work side jobs during their protest at city hall. If cops were allowed to strike, we'd really see who holds the political and social power. As for your idiotic last point, shooting an armed felon, who is running around slashing at occupied police vehicles with a knife, after committing various other crimes, while high on PCP, and approaching several officers, despite one video showing him walking away from that particular vehicle, is not "abuses of agents of the state against citizens" by any stretch of the imagination. I hope you are attacked by a knife-wielding, PCP-crazed lunatic, while the police stand by with their hands tied by those who think like you. I hope you beg for the police to save you from the "gentle giant," the "CPS student," the "aspiring doctor/lawyer," who was just about to start "turning his life around," while he mercilessly takes your worthless life. Then, in your last moments of life, perhaps you'll see the truth, and why the police shoot certain people. Perhaps you'll finally realize the common sense reality that young black men are being shot by police because they are committing acts of violence, holding deadly weapons, attacking the police, refusing to obey lawful orders that would have saved their lives. Perhaps then you'll realize how misguided and clueless you are to the obvious reality in front of you. It may be too late to spread the word at that point, but at least you won't have to die add blind and stupid as you lived. In closing, please never call us to help you with anything. We don't want to help you. You don't want us to help you. I'm sure you'll call though. You all do. You call for every petty problem in your pathetic lives. And we answer your call, solve your problem, save you from yourselves and each other. And what do we get for all of that? You hate us and preach your hatred to all who will listen, and force it upon those who don't want to listen, because they know you're delusional. Go fuck yourself and just try to make it through your worthless existence without calling us.

Hey, instead of apologizing, start saying and doing something about the union's actions. Speak up. It is your union and you have the right to speak out against their nonsense. Instead, you decide to speak up anonymously and say your sorry. If you are a member of an organization that does not reflect your values then work from within to get them to change their values or leave the union. Very shortly the Supreme Court is about to rule that you will be able to leave your union and not have to pay your dues. I expect a bunch of you to do that. From what I have read the SCOTUS is said to be leaning in favor of Friedrichs. I imagine this could apply to all public sector unions as well including FOP depending on how narrow or broad the wording is.

I have grown up and I intend to write as many tickets as I can around every public school in my district. The teachers , most of them, do not seem to be our friend. When they start working against us they are not our friends. Divide and conquer ? When have they ever supported anything the police are doing? Is there a "me too" clause with the teachers union ? We could only wish.

That California teacher case is all about requiring teachers to join the union and the ones that don't currently have to pay "Fair Share" just like all of the other public unions. If you are paying "fair share" you still get all of the benefits from the city as dues paying members, raises, medical, insurance but you don't get Union benefits like insurance, reps for disciplinary processes, vehicle stickers, calendar books free beer at the union hall, etc.
They are expecting the courts to rule that you do not have to pay the fair share if you don't want to. There are a few Chicago Police officers who only pay fair share now. Ask at a FOP meeting.

I've been saying it for years. CPS is full of liberal, backwards, self-agrandizing and self-professed savior-of the-world type liberal white people. They're absolutely clueless and foolish. I love the "my kids," "my kiddos," "if it weren't for me, many of my kids would be in jail [sooner]," etc.

It appears Chicago is in a death spiral brought
on by high taxes, corrupt politicians, national
events, BLM, poor morale in CPD, out of control crime,
systemic inefficiencies and corruption across
the board in city offices, deteriorating schools,
financial mismanagement going back decades, declining
population, generational welfare, uneducated constituents
electing incompetent leaders, etc.

The list is nearly endless and the problems are
hopelessly intertwined with each other.

By any standard it appears things are getting
worse instead of better. The ship is sinking and
so far nobody has started bucketing water back out.

On a sinking ship, eventually a bucket brigade
starts up and soon figures out that until they keep
up with the water coming in, the ship keeps going
down. And even if the ship stops going down, that
doesn't mean it starts going back up. That takes
even more work.

Here's the question:

What will it take for Chicago to stop going down?
One single change, say, a new mayor, by itself won't do
it. It'll take consistent changes over many years
to even begin slowing the decline. And these
don't even begin moving things back up.

Where and when does it start, and what are the chances
of it ever happening? And can it happen quickly
enough to prevent Chicago from becoming Detroit?

Some maintain that Chicago is too big and too
important to fail. So far, it doesn't look that way.
The endemic rot continues to expand. It may take another
10, 20, 30 years for Chicago to bottom out and begin to
re-invent itself.

Question is, what do all of us do in the meantime?
Expect the politicians to suddenly really care, and then
to suddenly find a magic bullet? Hope for better days
ahead only to eventually realize 10 or 20 years from
now they're not coming?

Or do we cut our losses and abandon ship while we still
have enough years in front of us to build and enjoy
a better life somewhere else?

I still remember CPS high school. Two black students slapped an elderly substitute in the back of her head and back when she turned around. I ended up getting in a fight with one in the middle of the class. I was not well-behaved because I often felt attacked openly because of my race (white). It was so out of control and the students were bussed in. I just couldn't stand for that. Never would I lay my hands on a teacher, cop, woman or elderly. I mean kids are kids but some have zero respect for anyone. I also recall one teacher, Ms. Roughanus (yes, I swear that was her name). She had rage against the machine posters and other social justice posters. She said combat troops were black soldiers forced to fight and die for this country because of their color. I eventually joined the army combat arms and saw mainly white and Latino troops. That piqued my curiosity and forced me to research her allegations. What I found was that her position was a complete lie; black combat arms troops were similar to today's figure, which is very low. If I recall correctly, less than 12%.

The CPS is a broken and liberal system. This country is in trouble. We cannot demonize our police and military and still expect them to risk all for us. I came from very little, had a great single-parent who never took a dime from public aid, who showed me love, discipline and instilled morals. Granted I made my own mistakes but I never stole, victimized others or rebelled against police and authority. I worked very hard in my early adult life through current day and put myself through college. Fuck the CPS and Chicago race-baters who now seem to be the majority. I don't owe you shit, up to and including my respect. I've met many out-of-touch liberal teachers who make excuses for their "kids." Thanks to the police and sorry for what you're going through. I don't see why you still put the uniform on let alone work. Stay safe and I hope things get better for you.

Well, since CPS/CTU is going to be running curriculum about
the bad and eeeeeeee-vil Po-leece chasing, beating and killing
all of these eager honor students from intact homes who do their
best to contribute to a safe and orderly learning environment...

Let us as Policemen, recognize the disruptive influence we are
and immediately withdraw ourselves from every institution in the
CPS educational gulag.

It will be a decisive win for everybody...

>Six foot tall, 200 pounds of fast-twitch muscle "baby" yells:
"I don't wanna, you can't make me!"<

..."Baby" then shits his pants and scribbles
something on the chalkboard with it.

Teachers, administrators and staff running around
in sheer, goggle-eyed, gaped-mouthed panic at the
prospect of having to tackle "baby" and change it...

>Pffft!<

Actually not a Police problem
so we'll just stand back and watch
the "experts" and see how they
handle "baby" since everybody's
eyes get wet and hands start
wringing when Police get involved
with "baby."

>"Baby" now walking around with teachers, administrators
and staff hanging off every one of his limbs<

Heh!

Oh what fun when every living ass is now
equally in danger.

We get to lay back and be witnesses for the prosecution
(and detrimental administrative processes) just like YOU did.

Not a very good feeling is it?
Realizing your "stepping up" for the collective good
will net you grievous harm at the very hands of the
collective you thought you were doing a good for.

The joke is on who now?

"Don't y'all DARE hurt "Baby" while trying to protect
yourselves from him!"

Amusing...
Teachers, administrators and staffers are starting
to come to an uneasy understanding about:

Just.
How.
Alone.

They're about to be in these bastions of higher learning.

Our eyes are dry and we can see clearly.

remember they are able to get thousands of teachers, family members, neighbors, and others out into the streets. A couple years there were about 30 cops walking around city hall. The fop doesn't compare to the ctu in political or social power.

And last I remember, this still is America, where kids should be taught about the abuses of agents of the state against citizens.

1/18/2016 10:20:00 AM

Teachers can strike, the police can't. Don't underestimate the number of people who support the police.

I"m not a police officer, but I appreciate all the hard work and sacrifices of the LEO's here in Chicago and elsewhere. From where I sit, it's the police who are being abused by the media, politicians and minorities with an ax to grind.

If you want to teach your child something useful, teach them to be polite to officers. Better yet teach them not to attract the attention of the police to begin with. Stay in school, don't hang out with losers, use illegal drugs or drink to excess. Do not have children until such age that you and your spouse can properly support them financially, socially and emotionally.

Most important, don't ever pull a weapon out or attack a police officer. This is a high risk activity which may lead to an early demise, and rightfully so in my opinion. The police are not here for you to antagonize, attack or abuse, they are here to enforce laws in an orderly society.

A handful of years ago, the media reported on the baby factory at Robeson. 115 girls (14%) were either pregnant or mothers already, including a the 15 yr old girl spoken about in the article. Does CPS educate them on prevention? Nope, they opened up a day care facility for the girls who had kids. WTF is paying for this??

Where's the charges for child abuse and listing these men as sexual offenders and expelling them?

Start writing all teachers tickets.

1/19/2016 09:44:00 AM

Good idea and if these precious teachers don't pay the debt to Chicago, they're not supposed to get paid by CPS. Here's how the boot works:

Accrues three (3) or more unpaid parking, red light, and/or automated speed enforcement tickets in final determination status.
•Accrues two (2) unpaid parking, red light, and/or automated speed enforcement tickets in final determination status older than one year.

Here's a another idea and a real money maker for the city: Stay in your warm vehicles and run plates of the cars, including those in the school parking lots as they're public property, and find out who should be booted. This screws the violators up big time if they get the boot. (Prosser High School has got hit bad a year or so ago when 6-7 cars were booted in the teacher's parking lot, including one of the assistant principal's Lexxus.)

Here's what booting teacher's vehicles does to them and their school:

One, the Dept of Revenue van boots them and they'll have to come up with a minimum of $60 plus the cost of the unpaid tickets.

Two, the violators will have to be driven to a payment center and back to their cars to wait for the boot to be removed.

Three, it brings negative attention on the school and their administration will be pissed at them.

Finally, the school will now be on the Revenue vans 'hit' list to check out to help them meet their quotas. easy pick'ens for them.

If the debt is not paid within 24 hours of booting, the vehicle is eligible to be towed to a City auto-pound. In addition to a boot fee, towing and storage fees are incurred once a vehicle has been impounded.
•A $60 boot fee is assessed per passenger vehicle.
•A $400 boot fee is assessed for truck tractors, semi-trailers and trailers.
•Should your vehicle be towed after 24 hours, a $150 tow fee is assessed, plus storage fees of $20 per day for the first 5 days, and $35 per day thereafter (applies to most passenger vehicles; effective January 1, 2014).
•Vehicles weighing in excess of 8,000 lbs are subject to a $250 tow fee, plus storage fees of $60 per day for the first five days, and $100 per day thereafter.

Just waiting for the day a REAL father cruises by a CPS school to tells a 20 year old senior with
no credits to stop eye-fucking/having ANY contact with his 14 year old sophomore honor student

You know...

Plan "B."

And the 20 year old gets in the Dad's face and says:
"Make me..."

It would be a fine thing if Dad makes a living picking up
and putting down hard, heavy and awkward things all day...

>Snatching "Yung Buk" by his collar so hard that "Yung Buk's

We're from a place and time when it was acceptable, if not
expected for a man under sore provocation to show his goon-hand.

If society would only once again shows itself intolerant of hard-head
behavior and stopped trying to be friends with these adult children...

Yep and not only do many CPS 'specialist' teachers get to live outside Chicago, all CPS teachers only pay 2% of the 9% deduction from their paychecks for their own pensions.

On an average CPS teacher salary of $76,000,

CPS teachers only pay $1520 (2%) of the pension deduction from each paycheck, while CPS pays $5320 (7%).

Now, the poor babies are being told CPS will no longer cover the 7% and gradually throughout a few years they must pay the full 9% ($6840) just like all other city employees who must live in the city without the chance of a residency waiver, do already.

The CTU reported in 2012 that 6000 of its members lost their positions (read the link here: http://intsse.com/wswspdf/en/articles/2012/06/ctuc-j14.pdf) in the last 10 years. And, since that article, that article the CTU upped that number to 7000.

So, where's the need for these 'specialists' to continue to live outside Chicago?

These 'specialists' are lumped into a category defined as 'need basis subject area' and can live outside Chicago if they were hired as non-Chicago residents and work in a 'need basis area'. The areas are as follows:

Areas Assessed as Special Needs
•Special Education Teachers
•Mathematics Teachers
•Science Teachers
•Librarians
•Guidance Counselors
•School Nurses
•Reading Teachers
•Bilingual Teachers
•Physical Education Teachers
•School Psychologists
•Speech Pathologists
•ROTC
•Sign Language Interpreters
•Occupational & Physical Therapists
•Health Service Nurses
•World Language (Exclusively: Chinese, Arabic, Russian, Latin, Farsi)

Important Points
•Only individuals qualified for and hired to teach in assessed special needs areas may apply for exemptions to the residency policy. Application for a residency waiver must be made within 31 calendar days of the date of hire with the CPS.
•Exemptions to the residency policy are valid for three (3) academic years after the employee's date of hire and may be renewed for subsequent three (3) year periods, provided that the employee continues to be employed in a special needs position.
•To renew exemptions, teachers must submit a request for renewal to the Department of Human Resources no later than thirty-one (31) calendar days prior to the expiration date of their current waiver.
•Teachers who voluntarily transfer from their current special needs position to a non-special needs position during the current waiver period must become an actual resident of the City of Chicago within six (6) months of the effective date of transfer.
•Teachers who involuntarily transfer from their current special needs position to a non-special needs position during the current waiver period, the remainder of the waiver period shall not be affected. However, to receive a renewal of the waiver, the teacher must be in a position considered a special needs area at the time of renewal.
•By May of each year, the Board will reassess which areas are still considered special needs. Exemptions will be granted only for those areas. The Board will not renew exemptions for job categories no longer assessed to be in special needs areas. Teachers who have been granted a waiver in a job category no longer deemed as special needs, their waiver period shall not be affected. However, to receive a renewal of the waiver, the teacher must be in a position considered a special needs area at the time of renewal.
•Teachers whose exemptions are not renewed will be required to establish residency in Chicago within six (6) months of their waiver expiration date.
•The Board reserves the right to assign teachers receiving residency waivers to schools or programs with vacancies in the teachers' areas of certification.
