Wasn't the CTA "Gun Free"?

We're pretty sure they were:
  • A man was shot Monday evening after an argument began on a CTA bus, officials said.

He was on an eastbound No. 75 74th/75th bus when he got into an altercation with another male, according to CTA spokeswoman Tammy Chase.

The bus pulled over at about 8:45 p.m. and the two males got off, Chase said.

At that point, one of the men was shot, according to police.
But...but...but that means one of the aforementioned gentlemen was :::gasp::: armed on a bus?? How can this be? In Rahm's gun-free Chicago? The buses even have SIGNS on the windows.

Let us just say for the record:
  • People on the No. 75 bus! We are very very disappointed in you.
Now don't let it happen again.

If they want it gun free, they better start installing metal detectors on the doors.

And if you have to take the CTA, concealed is concealed. Do not get caught.

Did he have a foid card and a CC permit? They said that when Illinois and Chicago got these pro gun laws and concealed carry, that the streets would run with blood. They were right. Now someone wants to open a gun store and range in Chicago. The bodies will be stacked like cord-wood. Nowhere will be safe.

Both victim and offender were with their kids. Way to set an example for the kids. Laws didn't prohibit the idiot from getting on the bus with a gun? Armed citizen could've resolved this incident in a swift manner? We are screwed. Staying fetal.

I'm confused. Why the no gun signs when criminals that do these shootings never seem to follow the rules about the guns? And why those safe passages when criminals don't really pay attention to them either. Isn't a safe passage really a sign to indicate a bad African American neighborhood. That kinda makes it racist.

While I don't like the criminal activity, I absolutely LOVE the fact that these cases are all getting media attention, with the farcical "No Guns Allowed" signs prominent in the photos.

Just keep proving the point that criminals don't give a shit about laws, and the law abiding are the only ones disarmed in a Victim Zone, ummm, Gun Free Zone.

Maybe the politicians will have a moment and eradicate those silly restrictions...

Well one can hope eh?

He could lose his ccl for that, although it sounds like he didn't shoot while they were actually on the bus, so he's got that going for him.

Wrong. Before boarding the bus the offender hung his weapon on the bike rack located in front of the bus and retrieved it upon exiting same.

Also ironic that he got off the bus at King drive to shoot the other guy on MLK Day.

If Chicago bans guns and the ability to exercise a constitutional right on public transportation, doesn't it assume a responsibility to protect those it intentionally left defenseless? Has the victim not been injured? Is there not a law suit here that can correct this?

Go NRA!

I find it hard to believe that a citizen of Chicago's east side, would violate a warning sign !!For this Bus No. 75 is now removed from the fleet !!

I am SHOCKED that a gun was on a public omnibus, because there is no crime in Chicago, far less on the CTA. Maybe a bigger "no guns" sticker will help.

How about the guy who got his ear bit off by a homeless mental on the CTA Green Line train the other night. Dayum! Force mitigation might not work on the "walking dead."

Retired and NOT LIVING in Shitcago, or Crook County, but in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin/Michigan.
Unfortunately I have to travel to your fine city this weekend and even though I appreciate the job my brothers(and sisters) in blue do, I realize that your hands our tied, but the ALCU, the storefront REVS, the political hacks, and the corrupt system won't let you do the police work you're supposed to do. That is why I will carry at least two weapons. And all of intense knockdown power, 10mm, 45 caliber. I understand where you people are, and I believe that you should be FETAL to protect yourself from ending up in prison. But that doesn't mean I won't protect myself or my wife. "PEACE THROUGH SUPERIOR FIREPOWER".
P.S. Born/Raised/Married/Lived/Raised a daughter less than TWO miles from the liquor store shooting on 87th st. My hats off to the owner/ Thank God he, and his employees are still alive.

As an afterthought...................will Rahm make the guy who wants to open a gun store on the northside put up one of those goofy "no gun stickers" in the window???????? and if that sticker shows the "beretta 92 semiauto, does that mean I can still carry my S&W FBI model 66 .357 2.5 inch revolver???????????just axin!
