So the Question is Again...

  • Two men in their 20s opened fire into a park on the South Side -- wounding a 3-year-old boy and 12 other people -- after one of the men had been grazed in the arm hours earlier, police said today.

They did not aim at anyone in particular but "just shot into the park" because they believed it was controlled by a rival gang, Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy told reporters this morning.

  • Champ had been convicted of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon in July 2012 and was sentenced to boot camp at the Cook County Department of Corrections. McCarthy said the mass shooting likely would not have occurred had he gotten jail time instead.

"He received boot camp for that gun crime and was back out on the streets to be a part of this senseless shooting," McCarthy said. "That is unacceptable. To truly address violence for the long-term, we need state and federal laws that keep illegal guns out of our communities and provide real punishment for the criminals who use them."
Um....numbnuts? We have the laws. They're on the books already. What we don't have is anyone willing (or able?) to present these cases to federal prosecutors for "Exile-type" sentences. The NRA compiled a survey and Cook County ranked dead last of 99 surveyed jurisdictions for federal gun crime prosecution. Why is that? Are our cases so weak that no Federal D.A. would touch these things with a ten-foot-pole? Is this a training issue? Or a political one where you don't want to offend the gangs that are pouring (and we mean pouring!) campaign contributions into certain funds?

And failing at Federal prosecution, we have Governor Potato-head letting out felons on a near monthly basis as he attempts to cut overhead and close prisons to "save" money. How many stories do we have to point out of parolees getting caught burglarizing homes, raping women and children, robbing iPhones or getting caught with weapons? And you know that we're only scratching the surface - it happens way more than we can ever find out. The judicial system in Illinois is a bad joke - unqualified judges, recommended by crooked pols and endorsed by fixed boards of lawyers?

And McJerseyTwit is going to stand out there and tell everyone about the new buzzword - "military grade weapons" - and completely twist the gun debate into something it isn't and hasn't ever been.  Read the third paragraph we quoted - UUW by felon and he gets boot camp? That's fucking appalling, and it also isn't the fault of law abiding gun owners or the NRA.

Chicago Tribune crime reporter Peter Nickeas was on Chicago Tonight with Phil Ponce tonight regarding the 13 shot in the Back of the Yards park.

Phil Ponce asked Peter Nickeas, "why the "No Snitch" code of silence exists in these neighborhoods where residents don't want to talk to the police?"

Nickeas related that there exists a multitude of reasons that the residents don't trust the police. SOe of which are leaving crime tape up after leaving, police driving down the street the wrong way and such. WTF?

Isn't this Lt Nickeas's son? Nice way to carry water for Rahm and throw the police under the bus.

Why not just tell the truth?

here's a story that you won't see in the chicago media.

A former marine emerged as a hero of the Nairobi siege yesterday after he was credited with saving up to 100 lives.

The ex soldier was having coffee at the Westgate mall when it was attacked by Islamists on Saturday.

With a gun tucked into his waistband, he was pictured helping two women from the complex.

His story emerged as sporadic gunfire continued to ring out from inside the mall early today as Kenyan security forces battled Al Qaeda-linked terrorists into a fourth day.

Despite Kenyan police assurances that they had taken control of the building, a security expert with contacts inside the mall said at least 10 hostages were still being held by a band of attackers, possibly as many as 13.

Double Ditto, Bingo-Bingo, and Amen. It's blatant reverse racism by the left so they don't offend their gibs-me-dat constituents.

But not only are they waiting for Whites but certain Blacks too; Conservative NRA types who don't dress like thugs, speak English, and if carrying follow the laws in their home state and are traveling through Illinois, or Chiraq. They're also a prime target for the low-life pandering fucktads to 'make examples of' (those Blacks DO exist, they've been in the news).

Hell just look at our Schools and Zero Tolerance Policies. Those policies were instituted across the country only because of Blacks bringing knives and guns into 'URBAN' schools, like in Chicago! At first they tried just using metal detectors, but that didn't work and schools were still a war zone and the halls ran red thanks to gang recruiting shit.

At first it wasn't complete "Zero Tolerance", that came in increments - like all 'Control Laws'. First Parent Talks - and more talks, then detention, then this, then that, and finally it came to 'Zero Everything'.

And today WHO gets hit the hardest for acts of feral blacks 20 years ago -- some White Kid in 2nd Grade who eats a Pop-Tart and turns it into a gun (Really Teach, WTF?..over) and is marked for life as some dangerous whack-job. But then, some useless air breathing Black thug like Trayvon Martin skates on everything from Drugs to Theft and Burglary. If that isn't REVERSE RACISM nothing friggen is!

Anywho..there's really a simple solution to the Gang Violence and the carnage committed in 'the community' by them and similar feral animals. And the neat thing is the all knowing egg-heads at the Univ Of Chiraq should like it, as it's scientific. Simply approach the issue and apply Occam's Razor. They'll have the solution for The Three Stooges (Tiny Dancer, McNitwit and Potato-Head) in one day, and it won't cost anyone any grant money. And since it uses The Scientific Method, nobody can scream, It's Raciss! (well.. they will but fuck them)

[kindly excuse the long post-rant. I'm just fed up with all the assholes]

I don't care much if he gets boot camp or prison or jail, as long as he is off the streets.

The thing is that no one has the money to put these guys away for a long time. And that is not going to change.

As long as we continue to waste money enforcing victimless crimes, there will be no money to deal with the more serious ones.

The stuperintendent gave much praise to those Tilden High School of Advanced Outer Space Rocket and Cerebral Micro Surgery Scholastic Academy officers who acted on orders from Homeland Security “ If you see something, say something” awareness campaign. Once again patrol does the heavy lifting to solve the most heinous of crimes. Patrol officers took the lead by reporting “chatter” to provide valuable leads for the successes in solving this act of urban violence. All the crystal ball units, intelligence unit, CPIC, elite gang units ad nauseam, gun teams, saturation teams, hard core tactical teams, hand-picked FBI gang task officers etc. failed to connect the dots. And the same goes for all that “federal resources” that were going to solve this crime. Heck, everyday I pick up the paper with some public official’s wrong doing and obvious criminal acts which the feds can’t seem to bring to prosecution, so why would I believe feds could solve a violent inner-city gang related crime. The good old blue shirts to the rescue again. The only problem I see is there is no mention of an event number for a school violence reduction mission or a nexus to the safe passage. No event number or a defined mission is a definite no-no. Good job officers and remember you did your job and all those advanced investigative resources could not trump your grass roots common sense approach to solving crime. You did your job, now lets see how the courts and states attorney's office bungle this.

yep, and how does this happen...

-------------------

EXCLUSIVE: The recent theft of massive amounts of highly sensitive U.S. military equipment from Libya is far worse than previously thought, Fox News has learned, with raiders swiping hundreds of weapons that are now in the hands of militia groups aligned with terror organizations and the Muslim Brotherhood.
////

According to State Department and military sources, dozens of highly armored vehicles called GMV's, provided by the United States, are now missing. The vehicles feature GPS navigation as well as various sets of weapon mounts and can be outfitted with smoke-grenade launchers. U.S. Special Forces undergo significant training to operate these vehicles. Fox News is told the vehicles provided to the Libyans are now gone.

Along with the GMV's, hundreds of weapons are now missing, including roughly 100 Glock pistols and more than 100 M4 rifles. More disturbing, according to the sources, is that it seems almost every set of night-vision goggles has also been taken. This is advanced technology that gives very few war fighters an advantage on the battlefield.

"It's not just equipment ... it's the capability. You are giving these very dangerous groups the capability that only a few nations are capable of," one source said. "Already assassinations are picking up in Tripoli and there are major worries that the militias are using this stolen equipment to their advantage. All these militias are tied into terrorist organizations and are tied to (salafists)."

The "salafists" are a jihadist movement among Salafi Muslims. This growing movement in Libya directly endangers the U.S.-supported government, and sources worry that this sensitive equipment is now going to be used by these groups in an attempt to overthrow the government and install a more hardline Muslim leadership.

Part of the problem is that there is no money or jail space to keep these offenders locked up. The prisons and county jail are filled, with Cook County Jail getting much of the insane that were housed in places like Tinley Park etc. Neither the State, County or City have the resources to keep these people off of the streets. Then you have organizations like the ACLU and John Howard organization suing regarding jail overcrowding, forcing more people to be released. Plus you have the reverends, activists, and other clueless liberals complaining that too many black males in custody. Another problem is you have people locked up waiting 3 to 5 years for their cases to go to trial. That is unacceptable. There is a saying, justice delayed is justice denied, and Chief Judge Tim Evans doesn't have the guts to force the judges to move some of these cases along. Yes, I think that the bad guys should be in jail, but there are reasons beyond our control that they are not.

http://capitolfax.com/2013/09/25/a-totally-messed-up-system/

[...]...So Champ gets sent to boot camp, but Edward Hambrick, who had a valid FOID card and an out of state concealed carry permit, languished 14 months in the Cook County jail after being busted for having a loaded gun in his car.

It makes me wanna scream.

* And then there’s this…

Brian Otero spent nearly two years in Cook County Jail waiting to go to trial for a burglary. The jury found him not guilty, but he didn’t get to leave the courtroom like they do on TV. No, he was brought back into the Cook County Jail to be “processed” out. He was put in a small cell just off the front of the courtroom, to eventually be brought back into the jail.

Now remember, at this point, there are no charges against Otero, yet he’s being detained against his will because that’s just how we’ve always done it in Cook County. Defendants who have been held in jail awaiting trial are brought back into the jail. They can be handcuffed, searched, and locked back up in their cell even though there are no charges against them.

Sheriff Tom Dart and county officials are doing little to change the seemingly unconstitutional practice and that could cost taxpayers millions

On his way back into the jail after acquittal, Otero was put in a holding cell with a number of other inmates and three men attacked him.

“They approached me and asked me, ‘Did you win your case, are you going home today?’” Otero said in an interview in his attorney’s Loop law office. “Upon me saying ‘yes’ one of them swung at me and when he swung at me the other two grabbed me and they started hitting me all over my body.” […]

Otero was eventually brought back to his cell, to wait. Ten hours after he was acquitted he was finally released from the jail.

Fingers are pointing everywhere…

But even if the sheriff’s office makes the technological leap to the 1990s in all 17 courthouses, the rest of the Cook County court system under Clerk of Courts Dorothy Brown is pretty solidly stuck in the 70s. The whole court system is paper and carbon copies. That presents a problem for Lt. Charles Luna when he’s supposed to release someone from the jail.

And…

While it’s Sheriff Dart who is detaining people, it’s Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez who tells Dart what he needs to do to comply with the constitution. For two weeks Alvarez’s office has failed to provide WBEZ with any explanation as to whether the current practices are constitutional, or what her office is doing to ensure Cook County doesn’t have to pay out millions in settlements arising from this practice of detaining people after they’ve been found not guilty.
