Now HERE'S a Rumor

No idea if this is true, but it's drama made to order:
  • Charles Ramsey is in town and was seen at a cafe with Rahm on Montrose Ave. I think Garry's days are coming to an end. Makes sense for Rahm. A knowledgeable black man leading the CPD. A no lose situation for Rahm. The alderman are fed up with Garry and have let Rahm know of their displeasure. Stay tuned.
If nothing else, this one will rattle 35th Street all weekend.

We're almost 2000 less than the 13500 that was on the payroll when he left. As long as tiny dancer is still in charge not much will change. If he does anything to improve the numbers he maybe your next mayor.

Thirteen members of Illinois' powerful and elite political class have now been charged in fraud schemes by the U.S. Attorney’s office this year. At least two have some form of connection to President Obama: Jeri L. Wright, daughter of the controversial Reverend Jeremiah Wright whose church Obama attended; and Quinshaunta R. Golden, former Department of Public Health chief of staff to President Obama’s longtime friend Eric E. Whitaker.

Charles Ramsey was as bad as Leroy Martin when he was here. Now after carpetbagging through how many police departments he has lost all his Chicago street credits.

Rahm might take Ramsey if he will continue the hatchet job begun by Weis and McFuckup.

The pride that once accompanied being CPD has been methodically asphyxiated by liberalism, socialism and leftwing ideologies.

By design we have become the enemy in the eyes of the ignorant masses pacified by generations of entitlements. The man handing out the gub'mint cheese does so once allegiance is pledged and the ballot marked democRAT.

If Ramsey - or any other minority - is brought in to run the show, rest assured it'll be to placate the very same cassock-clad assholes preaching anti-police rhetoric during their weekly sermons.

If you thought the Cline/Meeks embrace or McDaysAreNumbered St. Sabina "government-sponsored racism" rant was theatrical, just wait until "one of their own" is back at the top of the CPD foodchain.

I have heard through the grapevine that the Reverends, community activists, and Black aldermen are not happy with McCarthy, and are starting to voice their displeasure to Rahm, so I think McCarthy's days might be numbered.

As for Charles Ramsey, I worked for him when he was here years ago and always found him to be fair and knowledgeable. He is a class act and should have gotten the Superintendent's job over Terry Hilliard.

Ramsey back in town to become Supe??

Rahm knows he is not well liked by everyone. but with a solid vote block and no meaningful opposition, he will slide in for another term.

Just another one of Rahm's pandering moves to get the Rev's behind him to push out enough black votes to get him reelected. Everyone else stays home, saying "Why bother?"

Nothing more.

If Ramsey takes the job, he will regret it. This is not the same department he left. There is almost no meat on the sun-dried carcass.

Unless Ramsey takes the ballerina by the bells and squeezes them for some real power to run the department HIS way.

But no one that ever has risen to the top of the department has ever been a forceful leader. They all have gotten there by kissing butt and making deals.

Cafe on Montrose? Is there such a thing?

Yes there is.

Ok since Rahm lives just south of Montrose that looks good so far.

Then Rahm is clearly worried about reelection in 2015. He's been busy on an apology tour of sorts.

First he wants to rename Stony Island after some dead bishop.

Then what?

Hmmm.

A black superintendent!

Makes sense to me.

Personally I think he'd divorce his wife and marry Karen Lewis if she'd have him and if it would insure his reelection.

If I were Mrs Rahm I'd find a good attorney!

On a more serious note given Ramsey's experience in DC and Philly AND his skin color he would make an excellent political choice for Rahm.

Sayanara Garry! Maybe you can get a gig on one of the TV stations with Jody Weis.

12:18 and 02:56 are both correct.....

He thought he would have a four year glide in Chicago fleshing out that resume but the weather didn't cooperate in 2012. The natives slaughtered each other because it got hot. Original plan was use McCarthy to destroy CPD and stick with him for all four years. He now needs a black hatchet man. Ramsey will need a lot of compensation to carry Rahm's water because he can't collect his pension if he comes back.

He needs to get re-elected on a tidal wave of black votes in 2015, then leave in 2016.

1.) VP for Hillary

2.) If Hillary implodes early, run himself. Why not? Look at his potential opponents. Andy Cuomo? Martin O'Malley? Joe Biden? Lightweights all, and Rahm brings the $$$$ to the race.

3.) If things look really bad, stick out 4 more years in this place, repeat #2 in 2020, or ca$h in with his buddies for awhile.

None of these scenarios are good for us, btw.

Whenever I would run into him as he rose up the ladder he would always remember people he knew from the past. His only fault was his relationship with Barb. Daley II could not handle that, nor could his wife, and Matt was too drunk to address it. Anyone who knows Barb knows she is a piece of work, from civilian to exempt with the swipe of a pen. Sure looks like 'Violent Crime is down' in Philly, huh McJersey.

And iirc Pennsylvania's Gun Laws are a lot less restrictive than in Illinois. Which as I recall you like blaming for almost all of Chicago's murders, those lax gun laws. However, it sure looks like that's not a problem after all, huh McDrunk.

A Pro Police Mayor Lets the Chief/Super run the department as it needs to be run baring Federal Investigations.

Politics and the 5th floor have always been a problem with the Department. However, if you don't think the Garry McCarthy is this Department's biggest problem you aren't paying attention.

He is a megalomaniac who is stuck on this Compstat dogma like it's written on the tablets from on high. He was actually sputtering at the last meeting about how this homicide rate is "THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS".

That's it in a nutshell. Nothing else matters but his reputation which he thinks is tied to the number of gang bangers killing each other. Robberies, home invasions, attempted rapes of citizens on bike trails, auto thefts and wildings on Michigan Avenue are not important.

His reputation and the reputation of this ridiculous Compstat rests on the numbers of criminals he can prevent from killing each other. Screw you taxpayers. You get nothing.

After tonight's murder in the entertainment district of 014 (the 2nd in a week), maybe 014 coppers can stop leaning against a squad car in packs of 6, with tons of product in their hair and rolled up shirt sleeves trying to impress the drunk girls. It's called police work, you know, what you signed up to do? If you need a uniform to get the girl- you don't deserve the girl.

9/14/2013 03:55:00 AM

TRUTH! It is so embarrassing seeing them posing with the zoolander look and trying to push out their biceps while leaning back like Fonzie. If they only heard the criticism being hurled towards them by the very women they thing they are impressing. I frequent the area often and have never seen them doing police work. In fact, I've actually stopped a theft from auto and a strong armed robbery while they were doing the Fonzie lean a block away and didn't hear or ignored the yells for help from the victim! Get yo shit together and earn your paycheck!

All I can say is that I worked with Charlie YEARS AGO. I don't know what he's like now, people change. Most stay in the job 3 to 4 years. McStats will have 2 in May. If they let him go they will have to do the phony moving on for family or better opportunity because it can't look like the puppet master picked the wrong dummy.

Don't kid yourself that you will be better off with the next guy. They do as they are told and your wellbeing does not enter into it. Guess who liked Cline? All his cronies. My favorite was Dilieonardi he didn't last a year. Byrne had to get rid of him because he would not play ball with the first ward/outfit. The game is rigged, always has been.

Nope... Ramsey scared the shit out of Daley during the supernintendo beauty pageant that netted us "Uncle Ben" Hillard, the most intellectually indifferent man to "lead" this department.

Not a Ramsey fan...
Definitely not a Hillard fan...

But guess who would've set a better tone for this department?

At least Ramsey could think for himself.

Rahm must be desperate to entertain the notion of Ramsey because Rahm HATES people who can think for themselves...

Especially people who he feels are beneath him.

Like Policemen...

Ramsey IS arguably more of a Policeman than the last two nitwits we've been afflicted with.

Ramsey was a new sergeant when I first came on the job in 023. He is a Chicago guy, humble, bright and no nonsense. If he sheds that baggage he would be a morale builder. Check out U-Tube for his eulogy for one of his slain officers, it is absolutely beautiful.

SCC,

Do you recall when they Lowered the Mandatory age for Retirement to age 63? If I am not mistaken they changed the rule after Townsend left. That being said there were several bosses that were forced off the job due to the new Mandatory Retirement. News reports at that time said approx. 100 officers were going to be affected city wide...

Has Charles Ramsey attained the ripe old of 63? If so, City Hall would have to move to throw out the ordinance governing Mandatory Retirement age, and their Not about to do that! Ramsey was Born in 1950... So if he's not 63 he will be by Dec 31 of this year if my math is correct...

I was in DC for the last Bush inauguration. Charles Ramsey was giving us a pep talk during the swearing in, he mentioned that he was Phil Clines partner for years and talked about a funny search warrant. It makes sense to have a Chicago Cop as supe.

She took care of her sex offender son who was a sergeant in call back for 5 years.

They PAID OFF the victim to drop the charges and her son is back full duty in 014.

Anyone else would be in the penitentiary and would be listed as a convicted sex offender for the REST of their lives.

Only in this CORRUPT city.

Just because they have to ride with 2 and sometimes 3 recruits does not necessary mean they have more responsibility then anyone else in patrol.

Thanks for the memories, JOHN but that's the way EVERYONE for the most part was back in 1983...guys and gals had each others backs Times have changed! Especially over the last 10-15 years. Speaking of years-how old is Ramsey anyway??? Go retire for Chrissake! and take JOHN with you.

Yep Ramsey would be like a deer in the headlights, it would not change anything, except maybe more respect for the street coppers!

It does not matter who the Superintendent is. We saw the true McCarthy during the G8 conference protests. Rham had no clue on what to do. All the anti-crime initiatives are Rham speaking through McCarthy. Bottom line, the Superintendent of Police is the Mayor's puppet. Respect the rank if not the people who hold them. Be fair, use common sense and stay safe.

Jane Byrne dumped him because he was an arrogant, incompetent Bozo that loved the camera as much as the current one.

The difference between Janie and Rahm is: Mayor Byrne new she made a huge mistake and replaced him. Rahm's fragile ego will not allow him to admit he made another huge mistake in appointing McCarthy and Brizzard.

The current Commander of SWAT Lt. MM has completely destroyed the SWAT team. He is the worst leader for SWAT along with all the meritous Sgt's. Ramsey would have to forfeit his pension payments while Supt He would want a lot of money, plus moving expenses. I say no dice......Its Chicago anything goes

No, he's not forfeiting anything... It is part of his agreement with Rahm.

They are converting the Superindent's job back to a civilian Commisioner's job like they had when O.W. Wilson was brought in the 60's.

That along with all the Bureau heads will be Civilian Deputy Commissioner (Superintendent) positions like they have in NY which will allow the City to bring back retired bosses with some actual experience to shape back the department into what it was...

The only problem is if they don't appoint the right bosses then your going to have a bunch of political hacks double dipping (getting a city pension and a civilian city pay check)...

Time shall tell and good luck to McCarthy and his Regime.

9/15/2013 06:33:00 AM

I think you'd find any changes required to 'make it happen' would be rubber stamped by the city council so fast, you'd only see a brief flash of light as it happened.

The Liberals, the Reverends (have you even been to a church where you are making claims about what the sermons are about)...ahhhhh, blame it on the rain while you're at it.

This city is beyond salvage. And this job and any waning morale that might have lingered from the pre-J-Fled days is on life support.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Not just 014, most of the North side in general. All you have to do is drive around to notice.

It's funny, you bid up there to get away from doing work (or you get 'lucky' and are assigned there after PPO status) now its coming to you . 014, 016, 018. Time to step up.

I know, the Dept doesn't back you up so you're not doing shit right? You mean they won't cover for your glaring screw ups? You just answer your jobs?

How about the Bum that has to work the beat where you live. Wife and kid home alone. Do you want them to just sit around and wait for the Home invasion call or do you want them to actively patrol the area in hopes of deterring such an event?

It's not about drinking cool aid , being a company man and all the BS lines people throw out. It's called doing what you are paid to do. Perhaps you need to go over the paper work you signed off on when you were hired. I don't recall seeing the part that said other than answering radio jobs you can just hang out in the station, sleep, go shopping talk on the phone, pretend like nothing is going on around you.

Rahm was just asking Ramsey to suggest a name to put on the next short list. He needs help making it look like he's gonna actually have a process.
How 'bout when the new Chief of Detroit P.D. is done overseeing their city's complete descent to total meltdown, we just bring him here. At least that way we'll have someone with hands-on experience dealing with utter collapse.

Interesting article on the poor guy... they just brought him in to do inventory on their sinking hull, which apparently had tons of new goodies showered upon them from the feds to the tune of millions of dollars in grants for things nobody knew about.
