Safe Passage Sidewalks?

Can't have the little darlings stumbling, tripping and falling where they might scrape their knees:
  •  In addition, I noticed my neighbor was getting new sidewalks based on the white spray painted arrows. So I called 311 to inquire about them. The F/2 that answered was quite friendly and said, oh, I don't think that's the 50/50 sidewalk program, they are fixing sidewalks all along the safe passage routes. (You know, for the children, so they don't fall). I said, umm humm, I'm pretty sure in MY neighborhood it's the 50/50 program, not safe passage. She checked the address, Sure enough, it was the 50/50 program.

So, not only money for signs, but sidewalks as well. No end to the free shit for the children
Is there anything that Rahm won't give away to the catered to?

I have noticed more and more non tax paying ghetto areas getting streets paved and new sidewalks put the in. While taxpaying areas get nothing.

How is this not considered theft??

and the city has the balls to ask for 50% of the cost of a new sidewalk for us homeowners.

Once again, take from the makers and give it all to the takers.

Something doesn't sound right here....

When I had my sidewalks done I made the inquires and was told they no longer call it "50/50."

They called it as I remember "Shared cost".

There was a long wait, but not for the children.

All this does is allow Ozinga and Walsh construction to steel more money for shotty work. Then they funnel some of the money back to the democratic organization. Nothing new. But, of course Rahm will say it for the kids, but we all know he does not care at all about the children. The old smoke and mirrors the Chicago way.

Pretty sure those parents would rather have a handful of new police officers than even 100 miles of new sidewalks.

Here's another waste of time: let's pull everyone out of HQ and have them report to either 011 or 007 start times are either 0500 or 1000 and they will provide save passage for the entire first week of school. I'm sure this will turn into operation safe passage just like the other successful programs as operation closed market and all the other smoke and mirrors programs

I suggest they put small curbs on each edge of the new sidewalks so as to keep shell casings on the sidewalks and prevent them from rolling away. All the better to keep those pesky shell casings visible and easier to collect and photograph.

No and hell no. Next will be FREE 'School Shoes' courtesy of Tiny Dancer so the little tykes don't hurt their feet from 'old shoes', or ruin their $300 sneakers on that new rough concrete.

And not only one but three different pairs of shoes; Fall, Winter, and Spring 'school shoes'. For Winter a $50 Voucher will be issued to each parent and/or guardian for purchase of a pair of 'School Galoshes' -- Voucher also good at Best Buy, Brown's Chicken, and Monique's Hair & Nail Salon.

A few years back I was around CVS high school and an elderly lady came up to me and asked for me to watch out at the school's dismissal so the students don't walk along the long block from 87th to Anthony as the new cement for the sidewalk had been put in. I remarked how lucky it was that all the residents got together to do the 50/50 program for the sidewalks. These are all nice neat single family homes.
She stated "Oh baby, we don't pay for that, the alderman or someone does."
I told HER to watch the students at dismissal.

Rahm cut his teeth as a fund raiser for the Stuttering Dwarf, then he became Chief of Staff to two different welfare Presidents. So why is anyone surprised that he feels his most important constituents are the disenfranchised? Remember, he is an expert at extracting money from the wealthy to run campaigns and then redistributing the money of the workers to the non-workers. In return he gets POWER and that is what this is all about. Power is a drug and we are feeding his "Jones".

50/50 Program fell by the wayside a long time ago. They began calling it Shared Cost so the City could charge the real Taxpayers more for the sidewalk since we can afford it apparently. It's more like somewhere between 60-40 and 70-30. Unless your street is sinking and your curbs are crumbling with the sidewalk, I doubt you'll get any alderman to replace your sidewalk for Free. The only ones getting anything for Free lately are the Voters that Rahm & Co. need to stay in office.

More money is spent per pupil in the Chicago Public Schools then in any other school system in the country and most foreign countries. More money is not the answer, unless you ask the teacher's union and the liberal democrats. Every other word that comes out of Quinn's mouth is " for the children". Taxes are killing the average American.

I am truely glad I moved from Chicago to Indiana. That crap just does not happen here. When the Mayor of Gary recently asked the Governor for State Troopers to help patrol Gary, she expected them for free. He told her fine, as long as the City reimburse the State for the daily cost of the troopers. The City of Gary is broke and does not have the money, so no troopers. So the savages keep killing each other (Gary has the highest murder rate in the State).Indianapolis and the rest of Lake County (primarily white middle class) absolutely does not give a damn if Gary dries up and blows away. And guess what, all of our employee pensions are fully funded and the State has a $1 billion surplus. Yes, my pension is taxed, but that is a small price to pay. I truely feel sorry for the hard working officers who are forced to work and live in such a liberal shithole that caters to non-productive residents.

False. New Trier District (which is NOT the top spending district) spends about 50% more per pupil.

Simple. If you decide you want a new sidewalk in front of your house and the city determines that, while it may have some cracks in it, it is still good, they will replace it BUT you have to share half the cost.

In this case, it's all a PR campaign for the Tiny Dancer.

I'm actually surprised that they did not have coppers assigned to protect them until the cement dried. Wouldn't want any gang banger to etch their gang signs in them. That would distract the little tykes from thinking about their studies while they walk to and from school.
