I'm guessing he made even fewer friends after word broke that he was changing furloughs and granting extended time off for his front office dollies, while everyone else was just looking for a day or two off this summer. I bet he was thrilled to find out that one of his superstars had her trip to San Diego all over Facebook for her coworkers to see that she was afforded the opportunity of a summer furlough with her short time on the job.

NYPD has no right to bid for districts by seniority, period. When McBoozer got here he set about changing this shit of bidding by seniority. Who do we think we are, anyway? We can't bid if they don't post openings. Look for a return to wearing the crown hat all the time. NYPD doesn't question that, get caught without a hat by your sergeant and you take a day, no argument, it is just that way.

Everyday cars from one watch are called in early to turn over to cars from the relieving watch. Not to mention having outside district officers filling in on 3rd watch since their short maower. Things can't be that bad in 018. Everyday at checkoff, I see the bin is full of parkers, movers, anov's and I see a lot of officers doing contact cards. So in all fairness either you are an outright liar or things are really nice in 018. Sometimes the problem isn't the bosses, the public, the criminals, the judges, etc... But perhaps the problem is us? We can make change possible, real meaningful change.

So...

According to the little Cloven Hoofed Imp and his drunken, leg-humping henchman, CPD has been "right-sized" and "enough" manpower.

It's just a matter of "effectively deploying" said "right-sized" and "enough" manpower. Right?

No matter how many Policemen they have to grind into the ground to do it. Right?

Funny... Rahm is seemingly always conveniently out of town, long week-ends "with his family" and other such...

You Coppers can shut the fuck up about having a little extra down-time to recharge YOUR batteries and time with YOUR families.

The blog is lousy with stories about Coppers being forced to eat travel/vacation plans and the attendant COSTS for being FORCED to eat those plans in the face of being walked backwards in actual pay/purchasing power over the last several years.

If in fact the department is "effectively deploying" it's "right-sized" and "enough" manpower, why is everyone, everywhere in Patrol having such monumental bricks put on their attempts to not only have some semblance of a family life but also their attempts to take some down time in self-defense when they feel themselves overly tired and poorly rested?

As it is, there has been no movement on bid openings except from one shit-hole district to another for several years now.

This is the new way... Holding people hostage and burning them at both ends to encourage turn-over.

Ahhh... So maybe that's why it's so important for Rahm Inc. to destroy Police pensions?

Can you say "Hostile Take-Over?"

At any rate...

This is the city's tacit admission that CPD is quite a few thousand officers short of the manpower required to not only effectively police this city but give people the relief they need.

Not that a fuck is actually given unless some light shines on Rahm.

Heh... Someone asked if he sees his reflection in a mirror...

This is the grand re-boot of Chicago Policing that the North Shore/Gold Coast cocktail party and fundraiser "smart-set" is lusting for.

It will end up being nothing like Sir Robert Peel envisioned... By design.

Corporatism has no fucking place in Policing... It's damned bad fit.

It will be Policemen getting sick, getting hurt and or getting killed when it should be the corporatists running the department into the ground who should be paying the price they're extracting from Policemen.

The only proximity these corporatists should have with Policemen should be that of a crime victim reliving the tale of being on the business end of mouth-breathing creatures ascending the downspout of the manor like cannibalistic squirrels enroute to some raping and pillaging and murdering...

Sic Semper Tyrannis?

Our hope is when the Great Correction occurs.

There are rumblings already...

I'm sure he doesn't give shit. A few po's should request a change of furlough and extended time off and if it is denied, then file a grievance. If FOP gets enough calls and complaints, they will have to take some action, including in the next contract about furlos

So the only thing you can do is complain on a blog about it? How about you and your colleagues grow a pair and do what needs to be done? It always amazes me to see officers complain about issues at work. But they won't do anything about it. The solution is simple.

What the FOP should do is check the 20% movement between districts and units. If there are no openings and po's aren't being transferred by bids, then how is the department moving po's to districts and certain units using management. In order to use the 20% management there has to be bids first. and I'm not talking about all the non bidable units

So why do the commanders always take care of the inside people and change everything for them. At one point they were all po's and worked the street. Now after being promoted they only take care of the inside po's. There is something terribly wrong with this and I understand it has been going on for a long time, but it has to be stopped and changed.

Someone made a comment about what the FOP can do. Was the contract violated. If memory serves me, a detail can only be for 90 days, then the po is either transferred or returned to their original unit. Has to be like that in the contraCT OR WHY EVEN HAVE A CONTRACT WITH BIDS IF MANAGEMENT CAN DETAIL ANYONE ANYTIME FOR AS LONG AS THEY WANT. Why would anyone ever be transferred

We don't call them that here, so quit pretending that you are one of us.

All the clouted are getting into Fugitive Accountability Section. The Lt. (now ACTING Commander- what a farce) has f'ed up our unit so bad, we make these BS safe passage arrest. Yeah, yeah I know, you can always go somewhere else. No just waiting for 35th St to wise up to the douch bag and his dumbness. Oh wait, that's what 35th St is also. A once great unit trash by those in the NO!

Exactly how has Lt. RC in Fugitive Apprehension “f’ed up your unit so bad”? Because you can no longer drive around and do whatever you feel like when you feel like it?

Because you are now held accountable for doing comprehensive research on your targets, hunting your targets and held accountable for your progress or lack thereof?

Dig out your uniform and go back to a District then you cry baby. There are 100’s of officers that would love to have a gig in the FAU.

I would love to hear a mature and factual response from you. Cricket…..cricket……

8/24/2013 11:11:00 PM

If you apprehended a few fugitives the boss wouldn't be on you. You know the identity of the offender you're looking for; that's half of the battle right there.

At least 60 P.O.s have gone to narcotics since the first of the year. At least 10 have gone to Gang Intelligence. They just "detail" you if you have enough clout. Then the unit doesn't have to do a one-for-one. If you don't have enough clout then you can fill out the application on the OCD website and wait for a call for an "interview" and then wait for your name to show up on the transfer order. It's all legit.

8/24/2013 04:49:00 PM

And quite a few of those 'buy' officers that went to narcotics still refuse to buy. Not to mention entire teams (not long term) who haven't got a cb in years. What kind of leadership allows them to stay?

1st and formost, you do any comprehensive research on a subject, you have to put it all in his CompStat report. You know the report that doesn't go with any other files.
2nd because reports are done weekly, bi-weekly and monthly, you spend too much time doing reports than ACTUALLY trying to find the bad guy.
It has nothing to do with not having a car dipsh*t, when you have two people in one car, 25 - 40 cases between both of you, the best you can do is a short surveillance on anybody. But you wouldn't know this because you're one of his new suck holes who are bitching and whining about not having a take home car.

look at the numbers from the unit this past year compared with previous. We can't make enough arrests because he needs so much sh*t in the reports that he never gets asked questions about.

It's just so LT RC, you know, the one who made it on his own, doesn't FALL OUT at another CompStat meeting. The unit has turned to sh*t since he came.

To 12:35 a.m:

The point the gentleman was trying to get across (which you don't understand because there is no way in hell you are a Chicago Police officer) is this: WE CALL IT A SQUAD CAR!! NO ONE HERE CALLS IT A FUCKING "CRUISER"!!!!

By calling it a "cruiser" you show to us that you are just a pretender, not one of us, and we find that irritating.

FYI: We also do not use the word "perpetrator" or the shortened version, "perp". If you do use these words, you are either not from around here, or you are a civilian who watches too many NY cop shows (no offense intended to NYPD, we just have different terminology). We simply use the word, "offender". Our reports might also use the term "subject" or "suspect", and once we catch the asshole, he becomes an "arrestee" or "defendant" once formal charges are approved.

Dude. If you're going to criticize another's grammar and spelling, at least capitalize your first word and learn the difference between "their," "they're," and "there."

Now go and fetch your shine box, you moron. Your tour with the spelling and grammar police have ended in complete failure.

Doesn't matter what the dictionary defines it as. The word is not used by Chicago police to describe their assigned vehicles. The poster gave him/herself away by using the word.

Its funny that there are never openings but the "chosen ones" always seen to find there ways to more desireable districts.

8/24/2013 07:50:00 PM

One of the chosen ones, who just told the whole world on facebook that she put her pants on backward, took them off and changed them around while in her car driving to work last week, is one of those people.
She told a bunch of us she didn't know what a bid was and when she wants to go to a new spot, she just makes a call and she goes.

As in Mobile Observation Platform?

It seems odd that they want 18 year olds to take the test. Something is fishy. Why do they want 30,000 applicants?
