50 Speed Cameras by Year's End

  • Just as most Chicagoans were heading into the holiday weekend and tuning out the news, Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced the full list of 50 locations where the city will put up ticket-issuing speed cameras near parks and schools by the end of the year.

The Emanuel administration previously had announced 12 of the locations where one or more of the cops in a box will be keeping an eye on motorists during school and park hours. A news release issued Friday afternoon includes the other 38 sites.

Each camera, like those already up, will trigger warning tickets during the first 30 days. After that, drivers exceeding the speed limit by between 6 and 10 mph will get $35 tickets in the mail. Those exceeding the limit by more than 10 mph will get $100 tickets.
Watch the lead feet - no need to give Rahm any of your money.

Maybe Rahm can use some of the money generated by the cameras to replace the almost 400 ipads that were stolen from the grammer school in the Dearborn Homes on Thursday nite. Yes folks, seems this school had the new still in the box ipads securely stored IN THE AUDITORIUM! And guess who stole the ipads . . . of course the shitheads that live in Dearborns. Ipads were being sold like packs of squares in the Dearborns for a hundred bucks a pop. Now you gotta ask yourself, how many CPS schools in taxpaying neighborhoods got new ipads for their kids? What CPS administrator thought it would be a good idea to leave all the new ipads setting in the auditorium overnight? And finally, how is it that the shitheads that stole the ipads knew right where to find them. Hmmmm.

He hates the lower middle and middle class. What about him can anyone really like? So smug, I can't watch or listen to him. Cops , Firefighters and Teachers are the bad guys, according to Rahm. What a lousy person.

I'm just a blue shirt road dog with a HS education, but I have to ask.

Are these tickets going to be a state charge or an ordinance violation?

The law as it stands now, a municipality can't issue an ordinance violation for a mover or anything in chapter 11 of the IVC (except the parking section). Only equipment and registration violations.(625 ILCS 5/6-204)

The reason being is so you can't get 5-10 movers in a year and still have a valid DL because they are never reported to SOS.

So if some goof gets 3+ speed/red light camera violations in a year and are never reported to SOS and he then whacks someone, is the city going pay out when he should of had a suspended DL by SOS standards and never should have been on the road.

This law was passed back in 1999 when that truck driver hit the train in Bourbonnais, killing 11 people. He had multiple ordinance violations for movers and should have had a suspended license by SOS standards, but not one violation was reported to them. Making his CDL "clear and valid."

And the red light cameras, are those being written under ordinance
violations for violating 625ILCS5/11-305, another mover in the IVC.

So unless there's been an overnight change in the IVC, some illegal tickets have been handed out for the red light cameras and more will be handed out after the 30 day warning period for the speed cameras.

$35K or $7K/hr.

Only chumps that have jobs, late for work or school will.
Still, the amount of revenue the cameras will generate, the City chiltren will net about 30%.
But win-win for Friends of Rahmf.
Somehow the City has to make up the money Daley stole. Rahm tried by bringing in the indicted ex-Comptroller Amer Ahmad to manipulate the books and that didn't work out too well.

Just how many pos or others are required to man ONE camera on a given tour?

What is the response time average per "in progress" sightings?

And, how many additional behind the scene new supervisors, admins, or others taken away from real policing?

Every time I'm driving through Chicago, it's bumper to bumper rush hour traffic, you're lucky if you can get up to 10 mph in your car, only to catch the "timed traffic signal" that turns red just as you approach the intersection. You sit there idling, wasting fuel, only to be stuck at the next red light, and so on, ad nauseum. So what MF'n mayor thinks this will keep people from speeding??? Most of the time in our fair city, it's impossible to speed! Just way to much traffic, poor roadway design, etc. It's really all about revenue, not safety at all!!!

Also note, the "Info Dump" was classic Rahm when he was BJ Clinton's hatchet man. The Clinton White House was famous for Dumping Unpleasant News on Friday afternoons. This way the Lamestream Media would be unable to challenge what had been dumped and businesses were closed so there was no effect on the Market. Rahm is predictable.

Those camera tickets are City Ordinance violations, not IVC. That is so the City gets the fine and they can be handled by an administrative law judge and the ticket itself is proof of the violation. You will never see anyone testifying on those.

I just always back in when I park in the station lot and make it a point to make sure nobody is behind me when I leave out.

Once I was stopped by the state police and he assed chewed me and wrote me warning but that was it. I have never been written by a DOR or CPD but when I am parking downtown I usually take it off. I only have two screws and carry a screwdriver. Only takes about one minute to do it.

I'm going to check out some old radar detectors I have in the garage to see if they work.

Enough is more than enough and it is time for a loud and clear revolt.

every time Rahm and McCarthy make any public appearence we should shout the questions the lame stream media won't ask them. If they don't answer chase them into the street like the did Rostenkowski years ago.

That would make the news world wide and go viral on the internet. No Vice President Rahm!

When is Rahm's term up? I wish they would pass a voter ID requirement so Rahm can't go back to the cemetery to dig up more votes for a second term. I still think the election was rigged. I don't know of one person who voted for him, do you?
