JUly 2013 worse than July 2012?

Notice the sudden emphasis on "overall crime" being down and "40 murders less" than last year suddenly popping up? How about in regard to 2011?

We think it's 6 less, but July totals are up.

Anyone have the exact breakdown? HeyJackass.com has some helpful charts, but we don't see a month-by-month breakout of the numbers. And days like Monday can't help things:
  • Four men were killed in separate South Side attacks Monday, two of them within blocks of each other about nine hours apart, authorities said.
The coolest Monday in months and four people/folks get themselves killed.

Well I have found there always seems to be
" discrepancies" between red eye, HJA and crmeinchicago. one of the three ( I forget which one) counts police shootings as still a homicide. As for 2012 one has 535, another showed 514. But one thing for sure we know not to believe ANY thing "The Weekender" and tiny tell us

Chicago media propaganda outlets are playing with the numbers too.

Timing is everything.

Headline reads " Chicago is NOT the most dangerous city. "

The story goes on to report on homicides per 100,000 and then points to Atlanta, St Louis, New Orleans, etc. and tells us -- see they all have higher homicide rates (somewhere like in the 50's per 100,000). Chicago is at about 18

HOWEVER, no-where do they mention that Atlanta for example just came off a 50 year low for homicides just a few months earlier.

Timing -- that tactic should be familiar.

Remember when the CPD 9-1-1 response time data demonstrated the big improvement <>

Yeah timing is everything.

Not to mention this latest comparison to cities no-where near our size.

Those cities are like 300,000 people. Chicago is 2.7 million or nine times their size.

I'll tell ya what.

Let's flip the population data and compare a neighborhood like Englewood with it's 30,000 residents and 50 homicides so that the population discrepancy is the other way when compared to Atlanta, St Louis, New Orleans.

Englewood is at 155 homicides per 100,000 residents compared to Atlanta's 50's. Same goes for the Austin district and a few others.

The Chicago media should ashamed for misleading the public telling tourist that it's safe.

Hell, we even got a beat now in 19, Chicago's entertainment district that is in the top ten for violence.

SCC - Here you go:

This July - 53
July 2012 - 47
July 2011 - 58
July 2010 - 42

We've included the two police-involved shootings this month on 7/4 and 7/28. Previous years do not if there happened to be any during their respective Julys.

If you need anything else, just let us know and we can compile and send.

Ha! I went to www.FBI.gov looking for the Uniform Crime Report data but they only have it completed through 2011. But lo and behold I found this note explaining THE BLANK columns with no data:

The data collection methodology for the offense of forcible rape used by Chicago, Illinois, .... does not comply with national UCR Program guidelines. Consequently, its figures for forcible rape and violent crime (of which forcible rape is a part) are not published in this table. Table 8; 2011

Now I'd think that at least one crack Chicago 'journalist' would know about this -- it tool me 5 minutes -- and maybe, just maybe, question McStatistics about his less than credible crime reporting data that the FBI won't use and given that, how can he say Crime Is Down? And even maybe mention this to Tiny Dancer at the next Gold Coast cocktail party as it isn't exactly something new!

If McICan'tCount refuses to use the correct definitions of homicides (pardon my civilian ignorance) so incorrect counts are given to the media and cannot be compared with other cities' stats, you ought to put out the real stats for public consumption. World class, my ass.

It's not like it's ANYTHING to take pride in, a few more or less each year. It's Abysmal, at best. Abject Failure, period.

Can anyone explain how McCarthy got away with claiming that there were fewer murders in Chicago this July compared to July 2012? And why won't any of the major news media outlets expose the manipulation of the crime data that McCarthy has been engaged in as his crime lowering tactic? I just want to scream!!
