All Wilding Charges Dropped

Anyone remember this story?  We wrote about it back on 31 March:
  • Right in the heart of the tourist area. Estimates of up to crowds of 400.  The radio is squawking about State and Chicago, Huron, Ohio, Orleans. Wagons have been called in from at least 4 districts. The Mounted Unit has been clearing streets and breaking up crowds of "youths" for the past few hours.
Dozens of arrests.  We wrote about it a day later:
  •  All the local media outlets had to cover it - there were too many witnesses downtown to brush it under the carpet the way they did the entire summer of 2011 and early part of 2012. The Channel 2 website had over 3,500 comments at last count. National headlines were made everywhere.

We particularly enjoyed the comment by the woman who said she pays $17,000 a year in property taxes. You're getting ripped off lady. And Rahm? This is the sort of person who can afford to leave the city when it gets this bad. We're sure there are thousands more. You're going to be remembered as Mayor Murder - and the victim will be the City of Chicago
  • Alderman Brendan Reilly wants help to protect the marquee Chicago neighborhood he serves as a legislator from wild teens.

Reilly, who's 42nd Ward encompasses the Magnificent Mile where hundreds of teens ran roughshod on Saturday night harrassing subway riders and making shoppers and tourists uncomfortable, said in a statement Monday that he wants a meeting with Police Superintendant Garry McCarthy to discuss future precautions.
Over the three posts, three days, we had something like 800 comments. A whole boatload of interest in this one. We thought everyone would like to hear how the entire incident ended - here's an e-mail we got this weekend:
  • All 8 girls arrested in the March 30 wildings charged with battery and robbery had their cases dropped by the state this week.

  • Eleven females were arrested—10 juveniles and one adult—and charged with battery. Two of the teens also were charged with strong-armed robbery.

Not sure why state dropped case, lead asa in there is pretty good and the judge in there is usually pretty tough

This is case where all the girls met up from social media and they were from all over the city
Welcome to justice Cook County style. Not a consequence of any sort. And what did all the little darlings learn exactly? They learned not to get caught next time...and there will be a next time. Maybe even this weekend.

SCC you're doing it wrong. Justic for Trayvon.../sarcasm

Riots about to break out in LA over this B.S as I type. Anyways, I guess if the charges are dropped the crimes didn't happen ergo crime is down.

We also learned today that His Holiness St. Trayvon had been suspended from school twice - once for theft of jewelry, once for pot. Seems the chief of Miami PD stopped charging juvies at the schools, to keep the crime numbers down in the city. Instead, they were treated as "discipline".

Far too many people in this world live as victims. The Cook County system helps support that train of thought.

There are tons and ample laws on the books. We (the police) risk our lives on the front lines each and everyday trying to make a difference, do the right thing and enforce the laws making our town a better and safer one. The court systems here in Crook County is broken, we all know it and they don't want to fix it for some reason or hidden agenda. Instead of slapping (especially repeat) offenders on the hand every time they get locked up, let them experience their freedom taken away. Stop making jail like a vacation resort. Bring back the chain gang for violent and repeat offenders. Let them do the time that comes with the crime and I'll bet my paycheck, criminals will think twice in committing another crime in fear of actually paying fines and doing time. Probation, Parole, No Probable Cause, Motion Granted, Finding of Not Guilty, Dropping enhancements, Dropping Intent, etc etc etc - we're all tired of the broken judicial bullshit.

Once upon a time, I loved Chicago. Spent many days in my youth visiting my aunt on the North side; rode the buses everywhere during the early seventies and never was scared--but maybe I was too naive.

Did federal training for a summer and lived right on Michigan Ave. It was a blast. Did not live there afterwards, but always brought the family to the city 2-3 times a year, dropping a couple of thousand dollars a year in Chicago.

As my children became teenagers, I was happy to take them and their friends to Chicago and "show it off." We took the German student who visited for a semester there. And that visit is when I first got a bad vibe from Chicago.

As we waited for an el train, a transit worker (black, and looking at my naive teenagers) warned us to watch out for black people--they were randomly attacking white people. We visited a lot of places--the Loop to Chinatown (via the river taxi) and nothing happened.

That was my last visit. Every time I think maybe I'm being over protective, I read a story or hear a report and I simply cannot justify the risk of a visit, just because I happen to love the architecture and museums.

I no longer tell people to visit Chicago, or share all the little tips on cool spots, or anything except it is too dangerous to risk your health. Your family's safety. Your loved one's lives.

This August, I will take a short road trip. I have the option of going through Chicago (and save 20 minutes of travel time) or avoiding it altogether (at the cost of 20 minutes). This is a no brainer, as far as I'm concerned.

Sorry for the length of this missive, but I hate that Chicago is now a dead city. Like Detroit. Like Gary. Like Birmingham. Like Memphis. Like Flint. Like Camden. Like Trenton. Like Philly. Like Baltimore. Like St, Louis. And more.

"All wilding charges dropped"

11 females arrested, 10 juveniles.

Easy to see why this case was dropped.

Did the Area Robbery Detectives respond? Doubt it.

Patrol Division grabs all of the offenders. Go into the station to process. When in the station, they notify the Area Detective Robbery section who is supposed to come out and process the case to prepare it for court.

But when the Detective Area desk person heard the word "juvenile", he probably told the caller to "call Youth and they will handle it."

Youth Officers do not investigate or process the robbery. They only process the arrestees after all investigation is completed.

So the Youth Detective gets 10 arrestees dumped in his lap to process. He/She is not going to interview victims and or witnesses. That is the Robbery Detective's job. That probably was not done.

He writes up a court referral and sends it to court.

When the package gets to Juvenile Court, the ASA looks for the Detective Report, with all the facts of the case in one report. It isn't there, so the case is dropped.

The case probably died because the Detective Division blew it off.

Nothing changes.

Sgt. Severin and Officer Rizzato were part of an idea to put officers on foot to stem violence and to build a rapport with the community. It was a total failure. Two great police officers and wonderful human beings were taken from us and their families in an effort to placate an unappreciative segment of the community. 40 years ago it didn’t work and it won’t work today. The concept of putting these recruits on foot in the ghetto is going to achieve the same result as that of 50 years ago. Let’s hope that someone in the higher ups of this department see the lunacy of this idea and put a stop to it. Let’s hope we can find a few “leaders” in this department to begin to make some sound decisions.

Seems like there are many SCC posts that show how our justice system just allows these criminals to go back on the street without even as much as a slap on the wrist. Sick. Glad u posted the judges name. It should be kept track of..,, are they being paid off to let these little thugs go so things don't look so bad? Our City is getting worse by the day...... Down is up -- up is down. Bad is good -- good is bad.

What's being rewarded today from the very top of the political apparatus on down?

Banking fraud is rewarded. Liar mortgage loans and the bankers who approved them are being rewarded.

Wall street SIV's, structured investments vehicles built from the fraudulent mortgage loans is rewarded as is the rating agencies that put their triple A rating of safety on them, they are rewarded too.

Equity and savings are bad and debt is even good now! Bundle up all the loan agreements for the money that you borrowed and turn them into an asset by "offering" them as bonds. You can then sell the bonds and the bankers can't get more fees on the debts that you haven't paid via the bond sales.

THEN, the bankers can created something called a derivative based upon the bonds you sold by bundling your debt thereby allowing people to place bets on whether or not you will ever be able to pay your bonds and loans off.

All this paperwork shuffling based on the manufacturing and trading of debt, rating debt, betting for and against it doesn't build a damn thing of lasting value. However we used the numbers to show that we have a growing economy. Oh my look at the GDP growth aren't we something?

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Wake up!

Who else is rewarded?

How about the DOJ for running guns down the the South American drug cartels. Broken Windows failure #1

Broken Windows failure #2 showing us that the laws don't matter. Obama gets a healthcare law passed by congress that is supposed to go into effect in 2014. Then Obama says naaaw forget that law. We ain't gonna do the corporation part we are going to pick and choose who it applies to and maybe, just maybe we'll put it into effect in 2015. Breaking the law he just created once again making a mockery out of the system.

Broken Windows failure #3. See any bankers in shackles for the massive theft of the peoples assets? Anyone going to jail when they rob the city workers pension funds "because it's necessary" -- the false promises and b.s. Not honoring your word, signed documents or even the US Constitution is bad now.

Broken Windows #4 Neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman. Yeah, let's demonize him and use him as a tool for political purposes like more gun control. Zimmerman is the bad guy and the thug is the good guy. Now who wants to volunteer for neighborhood watch captain after that I ask you?

I mean really. If should be a joke but it's not. I'm serious! What is bad is good and what's good is bad

Great job SCC, while all this hand wringing and second guessing of american justice are spewing over the airwaves and internet, VERY LITTLE, if anything, has been said about one, JOSHUA CHELLEW, a 36 yr old georgia man beaten mercilessly at a gas station by 4 teens full of youthful exuberance who just be clownin, then pushed into traffic and fatally squashed. 2 things; if this poor shnook had been armed, would we be seeing lame ass kindergarten gradeeayshun pics of these shitbags and 2, when is SOMEONE WITH BALLS , in a loud voice, going to starting telling it like it is, that the vast majority of all this shit is brought to you live as a result of SHITTY, SUBSTANDARD OR NON EXISTENT PARENTING? fucking after a 1/2 pint of Martell w/pepsi dont make you cliff huxstabull, it dont even make you the guy who picks up cliff and claires garbage, that would involve a job, which you stridently eschew, job= no link card. Where are race hustlers jackson and sharpton on this? Why arent they blowharding the virtues of RESPONSIBLE PARENTING to these deadbeat miscreants? Cuz until they do, cuz, the amish honor students who kill 3yr olds or go down for their very own dirt nap, the responsibility and blame belong to BABY MAMA AND BABY DADDY for loosing these animals on the rest of us unsuspecting taxpayers. If theres more trayvons, mommy/daddy might as well pulled that striker-fire trigger they own selves........

Off Topic SCC.
But did you notice the Sergeant's association is going to arbitration. The arbitrator is Steven Bierig. Now google his name and learn and see his resume. Interesting pick.

And more.

And they want you to believe it is the Trayvons of the country who are the victims. Have pity on Trayvon. Do away with Stand Your Ground Laws. End racism now. Get George Zimmerman.

Hell, if it wasn't for the Trayvons, this and other cities might still be nice and safe places to live in and travel through.

Why use profiling? Because it works. Jesse Loudmouth was screaming about profiling a group of black youths near Operation Push HQ. You ever see groups of white kids around there? The only non-black people I see there are police officers. Or used to see there. Since I retired I haven't set foot in the neighborhood. If they are not paying me $65 an hour, I have no reason to go into any of those neighborhoods. For what? To be accused of profiling and racism. Fuck that.

Dear unpublished moron:

We assume you meant for your comment to go in the other thread, but we'll answer part of it here.

Martin's body was face up, arms/hands open and free (not beneath his body), and lying about three feet from a sidewalk. So every single "fact" you purport to know is invalid and false and you haven't seen anything in the way of a crime scene photo.

Care to make up some more "facts" we can destroy without even trying?

Asshat

It's interesting to those of us in the burbs how increasingly less attractive and relevant the city is. You'd think Rahm and the clowns would be worried about this.

Prices. Parking rates. (Hell, parking at all.) Traffic. Sales tax rate. Crime. Corruption. And the major stores that were once the special places to shop are now mostly branches of the suburban stores -- if they are even there at all.

Just along the north shore the three counties in between Crook and Milwaukee have 1.1 million people. Throw in the next three counties to the west and it's up to 2.5 million. There are fewer and fewer reasons to go into the city as more amenities are either moving out to or being built in the burbs. This isn't Podunk and Andy and Barney have long-since retired. (Yes, we do have our crime and home-grown dirtbags as well.)

Want to catch a show or a game? Easier/cheaper to shoot up to Milwaukee. Great airport, too, and the fares are often lower (parking sure is). Milwaukee is far from a low-crime city but at least they have a chief who doesn't take any shit and backs his men and a mayor who not only backs the chief but also wound up in the hospital after he went to help a domestic violence victim. They also have a black sheriff who encourages people to be prepared to defend themselves because when seconds count the police may be minutes away.

I think there are some good people in the city who really would like to see the cancer eradicated but without full backing of the powers that be I doubt it can be effective.

Give me a break. Leave a flashlight of pair of cuffs in your car or around the station and see what happens. I won't even touch on drug use..but alcohol. You've just described the typical pd. What's your point?

7/16/2013 11:26:00 AM

It seems that his point is that Trayvon was a thief and drug user, not the little innocent angel. It also seems that you want to continue to make excuses for his behavior and the typical violent reaction he had to Zimmerman before he was put down.

Eric Holder & Al Sharpton are now going after the "Stand Your Ground" law. I guess the law-abiding are expected to retreat in fear when confronted by evil. As shown with this topic, evil will suffer no consequences. Welcome to Obamaland.

Eric Holder talked on and on about the Stand Your Ground law. Zimmermans case hasd nothing to do with that law. He never used that as a defense, but used self defense. Holder is now harping on and wanting to change the Stand Your Ground law when it doesnt even apply
He then gave that father son talk bs about having to tell his son to be afraid of the George Zimmermans and made it sound like white guys were out hunting black kids
He should tell his son to stay away and run away from all the black thugs that kill the black kids
Cant remember a time in Chicago where a small child say under 10 was shot by stray gunfire from some white gangbanger , but there are plenty of murders where the little black kids where shot by black gangbangers

"FORTY-THREE (43) YEARS AGO TOMORROW NIGHT - July 17, 1970; 19:03 hrs...
...WE WILL NEVER FORGET"

(Fast forward 43 years to date)

17 July 2013,0903 hrs., Family and Department members are testifying at a(26th/Cal) parole hearing to keep Charles Connolly, murderer of Police Officer Thomas Kelly in jail.
On 3 March 70, Connolly murdered Officer Kelly, shot and attempted to assassinate his partner, Thomas Neustrom while out on parole for another previous murder conviction.

Aside from the relationship of the aforementioned dates, the families of Severin, Rizzato, Kelly and Neustrom among many other cop-killer families, oftentimes annually, have to relive the grueling details in front of the Illinois Parole Board to keep these cop-killers in jail.

NorthSide's genuine closing statement should be considered as a 'promise' to ALL our Gold Star Family members.
"WE WILL NEVER FORGET"
God bless them, one and all.
