Bad Timing

  • Sneed hears a monumental seizure of marijuana β€” 16,000 pounds β€” was intercepted Tuesday evening by a Chicago Police Department/DEA strike force in the Chicago area.

Sneed has learned the huge pot shipment, shipped via Mexico through Texas, was seized the night before the Chicago City Council passed a controversial city ordinance decriminalizing small amounts of pot.

Sneed is told the cache of pot was part of an ongoing strike force investigation β€œand was designated to be taken to a warehouse in the greater metropolitan area when seized,” according to a police source.

No arrests were made. A press conference by the Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy and DEA officials is scheduled for Thursday morning.

No arrests - but about 1,000 tickets were issued.

Expect to find a few dead amigos either on the Southside or the Westside soon. Someone always pays when this happens. Price of doing this type of business I guess.

Expect more Mexican cartel activity here now that the alder creatures and Rahm-the weed head decriminalized weed. This city is finished. Just call chicago Juarez north from now on.

Just give an A.N.O.V. on national T.V.

This City is now a joke! Pot smoking will be on the rise!

Just another reason to avoid coming downtown for anything.

Chicago better wake up. Other cities are starting to steal your tourism money, your retail shopping money (the high-end stores on N. Michigan), and other revenue streams you think you have a lock on.

One day all the dumb politicians will wake up and say, "What were we thinking?"

AND to all you city workers -- better open up your eyes and start paying attention to the News. Look at what happened in Stockton, California. They went bankrupt.

Six-figure pensions are going up in smoke. As they used to say - what goes on in California eventually happens to the rest of the US.

Their economy is imploding - and Illinois has even greater liabilities.

1000 tickets is a little light.
The smart move would have been to let the shipment hit the streets and then issue 483,831 tickets for 15 gram violations and raked in $120,957,950.00 - $241,915,900.00 because we all know the "brown" people always pay their tickets. What were they thinking?

If this stuff came from Mexico, does that mean that it came from the Cartels? The same Cartels that have murdered 30,000 people in the last 4 years.
So by Chicago standards, all of the decapitations, torture, murder, etc. is an ordinance violation once the dope is divided into 15gm packages. Does anyone other than I, consider the legalization of Pot as an insane act by an incompetent Administration. I can't believe that McCarthy put his career and reputation on the line supporting this legislation. Baby"G"

Rahm is fuming. All of that wasted ticket money. Now he'll just have to wait for them to blow a red light or speed past schools where he's taking the speed bumps out and replacing them with cameras to generate cash, I mean to help the children.

With this new cannabis ANOV thing...I'm just wondering...what will 003 Tactical bring to Branch 35 from now on? They actually might have to patrol the district hotspots instead of fucking off in the district for 5 hours on a Class B or C misdemeanor weed arrest.

The tox report was announced for that guy who ate the face of another guy. The only drug in his system was marijuana.
The talk was bath salts and other crazy mixes caused such cannibalistic behavior. Turns out it was just some weed. Maybe more face eatings in store.
Fun, fun and fun.

You do what you can. More stinkweed into the incinerator = fewer custom rims for the cholos, fewer silly choos and sequined titty tops for the oh-so-nasty girls.

Oh boy, a redux of the 21st amendment!

And the sky will fall, right?

One of the main proponents of the repeal of Prohibition noted that the 18th amendment made the US a nation of hypocrites.

The last three presidents (love 'em or hate 'em) undoubtedly toked up. If they broke a (moral) law, LOCK 'EM ALL UP. If, however, it didn't matter, then this whole subject is the definition of hypocrisy.

Things to look forward to.

Word is Commander JO is in a bit of hot water w the Sup. because JO announced in front of a dozen or so people, not all of them from CPD that there was a news blackout on the big weed seizure because of the vote the next day before the City Council. Sup Mc didn't want to embarrass the mayor. But DEA didnt go along with the City BS, they wanted their time in front of the camera, so a comprimise, the news conference was delayed two days. JO didnt count on someone telling Sneed what Cmdr JO said.. when asked at the news conference the Sup said the delay was necessary because of the ongoing investigation. According to one of the DEA agents I talked to, the investigation was cleared/closed two days before the news conference.

While eating ice cream with the family in a neighboring suburb (for obvious reasons), I had the pleasure of watching a woman do an emergency diaper change on her toddler in the parking lot. No big deal until she tossed the shitty diaper on the ground and left. Couldn't help but notice a CPD sticker on the back window as you high tailed it out of there. You're a class act and a beacon to us all Mighty 203, whoever you are!
