The Bears decided to use their first-round pick on defense, taking Shea McClellin from Boise State.
McClellin played defensive end in college, but his size and speed can put him either on the line or as a linebacker.
At 6-foot-3, 260 lbs, he is smaller than average NFL defensive lineman, but is a protoypical linebacker. At the combine, he was the sixth-fastest. In his time at Boise State, he had 130 tackles, 22.5 sacks, plus played a key role on special teams. He also helped create turnovers, getting four interceptions and two forced fumbles.

I was heavily reading the mock drafts prior to the draft. It was amazing how many different names popped up at #19! I actually DID see one with the Bears taking McClellin.
The Bears and Emery were obviously high on this guy. The guys on the SCORE Radio, said that they had information that Bill Belichick and the Patriots were planning on taking McClellin with their 31st pick. Hmmm? If that's the case, then maybe he'll be AWESOME!
Draft analysts have warned to wait and see how the rest of the draft pans out before getting too critical. Besides, nobody really knows shit anyway till they get these clowns on the field during a game. We'll reassess then.
They will still be lucky to break even for the season. The MaCaskey's are fucking cheapskates just like Old Man Halas. Halas was often described as throwing nickles around like they were sewer covers. Watch the games on your big screen tv at home. You can eat, drink your beer, and not have to wait in line for 20 minutes to take a piss.

Nobody said "who" about Urlacher, he was a consensus, first team All-American in college, finished 2nd in balloting for the Jim Thorpe award, led the nation in tackles twice, and was even on the Heisman ballot after his senior season.
Urlacher had nearly 50 more tackles in his junior season, than this joker did in his entire collegiate career - and as SCC mentioned, this guy was also on special teams!! He's going to get his ass handed to him on a weekly basis in the NFC North. Do you really think he can get past NFL blockers?
In their quest to "discover" the next Urlacher, Da Bears ignored the obvious - that Urlacher wasn't a discovery. He was the obvious choice. If they really wanted this guy, they could have traded the pick & taken him mid-2nd round.
After Irvin to Seattle, this may be the worst pick of yesterday's draft. I would have rather had the weed-smoking, baby-making CB from N. Alabama, Janoris Jenkins. He may be an ass, but at least he has skills.
He's actually 6-6 245. The reviews of him say he's got great cardio and intensity. He's fast. He ran like a 4.6 40. He's supposed to have god instincts and is great at finding the ball in a crowd. I'm excited. He might develop nicely under Rod and playing on the other side from Peppers.

I think they are relying on help from Gabe Carimi coming back after IR. If he makes it back healthy that would be roughly the equivalent of getting a first round draft pick, but this first round draft pick has a game of NFL experience and a year to learn the NFL.
Great, another season of crappy offense.
I'm so done with the bears. 42 long seasons except 85 is enough for me.
