Booing the Bosses

Evidently, Rahm, Garry and the fire commish all showed up at the Battle of the Badges tonight, and were roundly boo-ed by attendees.

No word if Garry stayed in the ring to fight or that fire captain who jumps on-duty police officers was in attendance.

How did the actual boxers do?

I loved it when asshole tiny dancer doesn't have a clue about what the color guard does and goes to shake the hand of one of the Color Guard Person's while they were standing at attention and then realizes that they weren't going to shake his hand because they were doing their thing so he pulled back so fast.
PRICELESS.

It was a great turn out, and great causes.

The fights were great although that Amazon that beat the CPD woman needs a DNA test. The tribute to PO Pearson and his team and to the fire heroes was drowned out by the crowd. There was at least 4000 people. Would be nice to see a crowd like that at all fundraisers. Although I think a lot were fight fans not just police and fire.

The booing and battle of the badges aside.

Every time I hear about that incident with the Fire Captain and the P.O. I am embarrassed for the police. Why did the P.O. NOT defend himself??? The story reads that he was pushed down once or twice and basically ran back to the marine unit and made a report. Stomp the fucker that put his hands on you if that is the case, fire captain or not it is a battery and your well within your rights. As stupid as it would be there should have been a fight on that scene that night, not some bullshit CR nonsense. Have some fucking pride.

No doubt Flaming Tutu & McDrunkass had the gall to be surprised...

Especially Flaming Tutu.

What did a ya narrow shouldered, twirpy, Napoleon Complex riddled North Shore shit-ass who told Policemen "I'm gonna fuck you and your families, take as much money out of your pockets, destroy your pension and your sense of security & way of life very loudly and publicly and walk you all backwards to indentured servitude but support me anyway" expect was going to happen?

You ever check how this muthafuckah acts when Policemen are around? He can't/won't look you in the eye...

Classic psych strategem... Dehumanize your enemy by not "viewing" them as human, i.e. looking them in the eye.

Rahm is thoroughly unable to view Policemen as human beings...

Which is why he is doing the shit he does to the men and women on this job.

Perhaps Rahm is afraid of what the word "Policeman" actually entails which is why he seeks so desperately to destroy the collective memory of real Policing as it was in Chicago.

Destroy the collective memory, incite internal strife and you can plausibly reboot any deeply rooted and proud organization into a shadow of what it once was.

Something is truly afoot for two mayors and two superintendents (in name only btw) along with the media and the full weight of local and state government are so deeply vested in "taking it to" The Police. There IS an end-game.

Property & water taxes doubling, more traffic cameras to extort yet MORE money from citizens to pay for " infrastructure " ( read clouted contracts ), and violent crimes up 60%.
This is the best he think of ?
Well Rahm, here's some Shakespeare, GO FUCKETH THY SELF!

Great way to them on our sides by booing them. Eventhough it was only a few of us who booed it was still embarrassing on our parts. Refresh my memory but how many times did Daley show up to this.

You're wrong. It is not unprofessional and in bad taste, it is disrespectful. Respect is a two way street and he has zero respect for us so why bother respecting him?

It's not the department members that have sunk to a new low, it's the department supervisors that have pushed us down this far.

"They did more to hurt you then McCarthy has done so far, which is nothing." Yea, OK. Explain that to the dics, the northside blueshirts now driving south, the officers working in districts with foot posts and boxes (look at 011), to pos that can't get a day off and more importantly to each officer that now does "hurt" (we all get "hurt") because there is not adequate manpower.

You don't have to defend him, you're desk job at 35th will still be there on Monday. It's ok if you forget your piece at home.

It seems some people think that just because they cannot work a few blocks from home they have a bad job. And, just because they cannot take time off from work whenever they want to, they really have a bad job. These people just do not have a sense of what the rest of the country has to deal with in the workplace. These must be the same dreamers who think that they should back the union who wants to accept no changes to save the pension funds and that things will just go on as before and be hunky dory and their pension will be saved. Just keep dreaming, you will wake up someday.
