The Last Plea?

  • When he first walked into a federal courtroom Tuesday, disgraced former Chicago police Officer Jerome Finnigan appeared calm and comfortable, even exchanging pleasantries with the prosecutor who had been investigating him for years.

But when it came time to admit to a judge that he had tried to have another cop killed, his voice dropped slightly, a hard pounding rain on the courtroom windows nearly drowning him out as he wavered in his admittance of guilt. He first accepted responsibility for planning to hire a hit man but moments later called the plot a "charade."

  • Prosecutors intend to seek a 13-year prison term at Finnigan's Aug. 11 sentencing. He agreed to cooperate with authorities.
Cooperate? What else are they looking at? One rogue team was all we understood there to be. Ten guilty pleas and at least that many resignations. Are the feds trying to climb a ladder here? And where does it lead?

The reports don't make sense. They keep saying everythings done yet they keep mentioning they are cooperating. Cooperating against who? Themselves. You rat on yourself. That's just a guilty plea. Either shit reporting or its just getting started.

Mike Shields is replacing Sid Davis with another of his "friends" who lost the election.
One D.S.
D.S. who is STILL on the Medical after almost a year!
D.S. apparently can work for the FOP but CANNOT work his police job!

Someone needs to investigate D.S.'s law practice as well and see how many times he has gone to court in the past year while on the Medical. A clear violation of the G.O.'s

okay they got him on tape talking about a "plot." what the act in furtherance of said plot?

Anonymous some will disagree, but its over said...

im guessing its pretty much done considering this quote from a news outlet:

"The guilty plea Tuesday marked the winding down of the legal process for a scandal that has long haunted the city and the Police Department. Finnigan is the last of four officers to plead guilty to federal charges brought this month in what turned a long-term investigation into a quickly closed case with little new information revealed."

I dont know about you but it sounds like case closed to me. Besides, the paperwork filed by the feds in the court brief outlining the case and plea deals(which you can also find online) pretty much state that the case is done and its closed. Its about a 40 page brief with alot of legaleese but it makes the point pretty clear that the feds part in the case is done. Suchoki was named in it but it pretty much said that they did not have enough to support an indictment. 2 other officers who are in call back or resigned were also named in it but the brief stated the same that not enough evidence existed AT THIS TIME to indict them and considered the case at a standstill with all avenues thourgoughly investigated... Its a long read but a good one.. so yes, its over.. at least for the feds and thats in writing. Im sure the state has nada and wont bring anything else up considering they dropped all charges against them... a once strong case turned into a whimper... pathetic.

Like I said before on an earlier post- there are more indictments to come. Be patient! This is a long way from over.

It leads all the way to Shortshanks and his boy "Muppet Head" who has been protected from the beginning. Don't you all worry. They are all protected and the Feds will not touch them. Shortshanks was forced to get out of the way for Rahhhhhm and in exchange he is free to spend the loot from the Shitcago caper.

The paperwork filed by the Feds was completed BEFORE Finnigen agreed to cooperate. Don't read to far into the indictment papers. You're not looking at the big picture. Finnigans putting the pieces together for a reduced sentence. More to follow.

Its not over by a longshot- the brief was completed over a year ago. Finnigan wasn't cooperating then. He is cooperating now. 3 more will be indicted this fall. I think you can figure out who it will be.

Wow! The Feds put in writing that its over! Yea right. You are soft guy. A grand jury has been impanaled to continue the investigation. The feds are going to lock in statements for recent persons who are agreeing to cooperate. The filing was completed based on KH cooperation. Now Finnigan is cooperating. A new investigation has begun. Finnigan admitted to taking $200K in open court. Who was with him when he did that? Iam sure he wasn't alone. This is just starting.

There is no "ladder" here, what there will be is more lies and stories told by the guilty against other blue shirts under the encouragement of shitstick Emanuel in order that he may continue to orchestrate the appearance that all cpd are scum and that his manipulation of public perception by his complicit media whores grants him the control over all arbiters and the courts so that he can ensure the destruction of our union protections and that he may force pay cuts upon the police (with an "incentive pay" program for his friends and family), destruction of seniority protections against his punitive attempts to force people off the job and his attempts to end medical benefits for anyone not in his personal "inner circle" as he will manufacture at a later date.

No "boss" will ever be held accountable, no high ranking personnel will ever be touched because that's what "exempt" means, "exempt" from accountability, the rules and the law.

Haven't you figured this out yet after being hit in the face with it repeatedly now for years?

To the poster who said that Shortshanks was "forced to get out of the way for Rahm" you don't know how right you are!

All politics seem corrupt, but the politicians from Chicago, all the way from 1600 Penna Ave, to Springfield, to City Hall have perfected their craft beyond measure. There is so much going on behind the scenes with the last mayoral election that if the citizens were to know the truth their heads would spin, but knowing our "wise" citizens, they would still vote for these crooks nonetheless.

Sooooo...

This case was essentially the feds shaking the wrong tree just because some coppers were thirsty & stupid...

...If the notion is credible that the case is winding down, it's only because the feds realize that their big block-buster, career making wet dream, "hurray for us, fuck you" alert every news channel we're going to federally dick the entirety of SOS and a goodly portion of CPD, has gone kaput...

...Was there really nothing there other than a failure by the upper echelon to step in, rein in and render some semblance of directed supervision (of the likes the peed on peons of Patrol are subjected to) to curtail the nonsense that occurred under the guise of "good Policing?"

Heh... All the posturing, jaw-jacking, sweating, vein-popping, eye crossing, loin thrusting & hand partying by the feds and the end result is a loud fart, some stink, stupid looks and an exasperated exclaimation from behind the door with the fbi logo of "wtf! is that all?"

What a WASTE of tax payer treasure!

Would somebody remind those gumps that we have some unsolved murders of Policemen that need the same amount of sweat equity?

Or have they conceded that they're going to leave these Officers out to rot because their spilled blood doesn't generate the tingle in feeb loins like the SOS caper?

Not surprising at all. Feeb culture is rotten to the core. They burn and bury their fuck-ups or pay to make their fuck-ups go away...

(hiya j-fled! what kind of deal did YOU cut to escape the scaffold for Treason? we hope those 3000 American citizens haunt the shit out of you for your obstruction of actionable intel that WOULD HAVE SAVED LIVES! every attempt to out your miserable ass in local msm is promptly censored. we long for the day to see you taste the justice you've managed to avoid. even the luck of the devil runs out.)

What exactly did he say that he will accomplish? All smokes and mirrors people! How can he run a lodge when he has to make weekly schedules for the five companies he is profiting from as a Project Manager? More money in his pocket. The truth will unfold in three years people

Maybe it is not over as yet! On another note Mike Shields your spending "our money" like a drunken sailor asshole slow down and concentrate on the next contract, and getting someone else to secure our pension monies. Mike your turning into what you objected to on the pension board a "big spender" or our money!

Mike if your overwhelmed which you obviously we would understand you stepping down, maybe then with your next child on the way you can devote more time to being a father, and not doing all these crazy things at the hall!

Maybe its just me, but ONE police office pleading guilty to what this piece of shit and the other pieces of shit are pleading guilty of is plenty. I know your not defending them but you don't seem to be as outraged as some of us are. These are bad guys. And they used to work with us. There is no good spin on this

This is it. The Feds want people to believe more will come; however, this is it and this will fade away.

It's difficult to prove criminal cases when people steal from people engaged in criminal activities. "They stole my drug money" might get you fired, but doesn't work well with jurys in criminal cases.

Look at the two charges: murder to hire (a subsequent event) and tax invasion - for not reporting. Feds prove this case against Finegan with information he provided, nothing that they proved from the initial allegations.

DO NOT TALK TO THE FEDS

no, there was only one snitch. One rat. Hopefully keith hererra will go away for all 13 years. Pretty much going on national TV saying all police officers in chicago are liers and put cases on people. and yes, this is over. The feds say, more to come and people are cooperating so they can keep control of the police department. If its in the back of every coppers mind that more charges are coming they will walk on egg shells and not do anything wrong.

Leads all the way to Shortshanks? Oh please! I don't think anyone detested the Hibernian Handjob more than me but for fucks sake, did he kidnap the Lindberg baby too! Daleys nephew could embezzle more city funds in three days than Finnigan and his entire crew which apparently turned out to be quite small, could strong-arm from our weak, tired, poor, and hungry in a year or two. I believe I'm standing on fact when I say that. If Daley needed anyone out earning for him, Finnigan wouldn't make the cut with those returns.
