Favre to Start

  • The Vikings and Bears are playing at the University of Minnesota's outdoor stadium because the Metrodome's roof collapsed last weekend after a heavy snowstorm. The roof's failure caused the Vikings-Giants game to be moved to Detroit, but the university was able to get its two-year-old stadium ready to host the Bears.

Snow started steadily falling in the Twin Cities on Monday afternoon and forecasts called for wind-chill temperatures well below zero by game time, conditions that Favre got to know well during 16 years with the Green Bay Packers.

With Green Bay losing, the Bears can clinch a playoff spot that we were sure was out of reach this year.

Just like last week the Bears are playing like they're on roller skates. They also are doing a piss poor job of tackling again!

But at what cost? Favre is already injured, maybe badly. How many of OUR guys will be hurt before the night is over?

This is like playing football on CONCRETE. SLIPPERY concrete, at that.

If Brett Favre is done for the season (and for his career), Corey Wootton may be the answer for trivia buffs as the guy who ended his legendary career.

First time I've listened to Gruden and Jaworski working together. Next time I'll watch with the volume off.

On ESPN's Mike and Mike in the Morning, "expert" NFL analyst Derrick Brooks just said that the Eagles are a better team than the Bears. When it was pointed out that the Bears just beat the Eagles only 3 weeks ago, he said he thinks Philly rates higher based on their momentum.

Now, I know the Patriots blew out the Bears by 29 points last week, but I think the Bears played a "statement game" last night by not only winning the NFC North championship, but also doing it by blowing out the Vikings by 26 points on a HORSESHIT field, and on nationally televised MNF where there they historically SUCK.

The Bears could have tanked after that embarrassment against the Patriots. Champions don't do that, though. And like it or not, acknowledge it or not, make no mistake about it, Chicago IS the NFC North CHAMPIONS!

Not only that, from last weeks loss to the Pats to winning last night, the point differential went from a 29 point loss to a 26 point win, a swing of 55 points. That, to me has MOMENTUM written all over it.

Looks to me like the national sports media, AGAIN, is dissing the Bears which plays right into their hands. GO BEARS!!!
