Christmas Card

If you have a second, and it only take a few, Bill Cozzi deserves a moment of your attention. His address is listed in the right hand column and a card this holiday season would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Can anyone in regular contact with Bill advise on what he might need?

I know the BoP site shows things that you CAN send, but does anyone know what Bill WANTS to receive?

Thanks!

Somebody posted last week that NO Christmas cards would be accepted by the correctional center. But I'll send a card; if it gets tossed, fine, if not, it is worth the effort.

I believe only letters will be accepted, no cards.

I believe that person had sent one of the musical cards. Those cards have pieces of metal inside and was refused.

I have sent Bill numerous cards in the past and he has received them all.

Regarding: Can anyone in regular contact with Bill advise on what he might need?

He doesn't want anything. He appreciates any and all cards or letters.

Stay safe..A wife

I write Bill often and he stated that someone sent him a card with the electronic music chip and that was returned. I asked him if he could receive Christmas cards and he said yes.

He says he can only receive magazine and newspaper subscriptions of which he told me he has plenty.

I get a kick out of his opinions of the questionable lineage and intelligence of some residents and staff of the prison where he is a guest in the great state of Louisiana. It's worth the price of a postage stamp. He always try to sound upbeat in his letters and he gets a lot of info, such as the passing of P.O.Flisk. I didnt think he would know but he did. He will never let you forget you work for a great city and a great Department, in spite of all he has experienced.

Keep the cards and letters coming, it only takes a few minutes of your time to make the day of a man whose minutes are an eternity. God is watching and never forgets, just as we can't let Bill think we forgot him. Whether you believe don't believe, agree or not. Remember that it could happen to any of us.

Merry Christmas to all you blue shirt wearing, funny blue and white driving nutbags....and some white shirts. P.S. if you're not sure about what to send Bill, ask or e-mail John Northen as I'm pretty sure he has a good handle on Bill's situation. I did at first and received a prompt response.

God Bless Bill and all of you and your families. Thanks SCC.

3:44 AM & 4:16 AM

Aside from your prayers and your precious (Christmas) cards and letters, Bill must purchase toiletries, postage stamps and all other supplies from the prison commissary. SCC and 4:16 AM please take note, the isolated refusal of one Christmas card by the BoP occurred because said card had a music player device inside. Bill can accept unlimited regular greeting cards and all letters.

Your message in the card/letter is not of primary concern. Wish Bill the best and to remain strong and that he has not been forgotten. The mere fact that you sent him mail tacitly says "I am thinking of you and I care."

Bill is now aware that both SCC and DSLC have a special Christmas card post up just for him as he rots in a bayou prison a thousand miles from home.

PLEASE bring a wee bit of joy into this scapegoated man's miserable existence. Don't have a Christmas card handy? Grab a 44 cent stamp and an envelope right now. Address the envelope:

William J. COZZI, #40222-424
FCI Oakdale
P.O. Box 5000
Oakdale, LA 71463

Scribble a short note like "Dear Bill: My name is _________. I am (am not) CPD. You are in my thoughts and prayers and have not been forgotten. Stay strong! God bless you!

s/Your name(s) with your return mailing address.

Do NOT underestimate the power and strength that you give to Bill with this simple gesture of compassion. YOU CARE! Let Bill know that via U.S. mail.

I know I speak for Bill: May you and your loved ones have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!

DON'T send a card, they will not forward it to him. Instead, send a note or letter.

Bill cannot get cards or magazines unless the magazines are sent directly from the vendor.

Bill loves to get and appreciates the letters from people so please stick with letters as those will make it to him.

I know we are all very busy this time of year but please take a few minutes and drop Bill a line. He always loves to hear from people.

If you need his address it is posted on the main SCC page and of course if you want more information there is a Free Bill Cozzi Facebook Page that you can look at.

I did receive a letter from Bill a few days and compared to letters past he does sound more upbeat.

Please keep the flow going as these letters will keep him busy

Thanks to all for their continued support.

Please stay smart and stay safe out there and do not call your backup off for any reason if you are riding 99.

5:58, 8:46 AM and Bob (2:47 pm)

I herein repeat my above 8:40 AM post. I just spoke with Bob Cavaiani, 025.

Bill COZZI will receive your Christmas cards as long as they are NOT oversized and do NOT include sound or lighting gimmicks and devices. All regular cards (and letters) will get through to Bill. No parcels, postage stamps, checks or cash.

In my experience, the fairer sex is more inclined to send Christmas cards. For you "macho" guys out there, don't hesitate. Have your lady send the card if you must. At the very least, drop Bill a note. I KNOW that your cards and letters give him the strength to endure this ordeal.

ATTN: SCC & DSLC: In the event future posters imply that standard greeting cards will be returned by the U.S. Bureau of Prisons (BoP), please set the record straight.

BURY BILL IN AN AVALANCHE OF (regular) CHRISTMAS CARDS AND LETTERS. PLEASE! You will bring a smile to the face of a very lonely and depressed copper.

Bill's timely petition for a writ of certiorari remains pending before the U.S. Supreme Court. SCOTUS rarely grants cert.
