Election Petitions

  • Here's a sure sign that Chicago aldermen are petrified about next year's City Council election. Their protectors in Springfield are trying to make it much harder for anybody to run against them.

An Illinois House committee this week approved a bill that would greatly increase the number of petition signatures a candidate has to collect to get on the ballot. And if a registered voter signed petitions for two or more candidates, the signatures wouldn't count.

Bottom line: Less competition! How nice for the incumbents.
Next thing you know, you'll all be making noise about voting against Shortshanks.

The article says that all you need to vote for aldercreature is 2% of the previous election vote totals. The average number of signatures needed? One-hundred-eighty-seven.

That's it? Why the heck don't we have dozens of coppers running for office? Some of these wards only needed eighty signatures for a spot on the ballot. We could see a bloc of coppers getting together and unseating an aldercreature or four or eight. It would be enough to give Shortshanks indigestion for months.

This is to secure the anchors of the Chicago Corruption Machine.

Incumbents are hard to beat and multiple players are more difficult for incumbents to avoid runoffs.

These corrupt bastards are going to change ILLINOIS law to keep the reigns of corruption in tact.

Daley and the Aldercreatures know that the average Joe is pissed off and wants blood.

Almost every Alderman needs to be voted out of office, there are a few that are okay.

Remember boys and girls CHANGE is the theme.

Lets give them REAL MEANINGFUL CHANGE and dump them all, CHANGE you can believe in.

Why not just make it 10,000 signatures to get on the ballot. Chicago is already a dictatorship!

The petition signature increase insures that, only potential candidates with huge political armies of campaign workers (AKA precinct captains), can even get on the ballot.

This guarantees that the Chicago Corruption Machine wins and keeps their incumbents in office.

If only the citizens would awake and become educated voters.

This bill is not yet law. If Chicago's elected officials down state thought their city voters would backlash against THEM because of this bill, they may not support it.

Write your people in Springfield and tell them how you feel!

A 3 Step formula for ousting incumbents:

Step 1: Identify who the Incumbents are.

Step 2: Locate the Incumbent's name on the ballot.

Step 3: If the Incumbent's name is listed first, (at the top of the list of candidates), cast your vote for whichever name is listed last.

OR

If the Incumbent's name is not listed first, (anywhere but the top of the list of candidates), cast your vote for whichever name is listed first.

Applying the above formula will ensure that you have not cast any votes for any Incumbents and that all voters, who have also applied this formula, will have cast their votes for the same non-incumbent candidate.

Change I can believe in: Stone, Levar, Allen, Doherty, Laurino, O'Connor, Rugai out next year.

I'm sick of working for the egotistical assholes they sponsored for management positions.

I'm sure that I forgot some others who deserve the ax too.

As shown in the last few elections, the 3 Step Formula generally fails. It's time for recalls, term limits and *NON*-Democratic political parties!
