Can We Move On Yet?

Hopefully, we've all seen the last of the Abbate video. We mean, the media has only been playing it for two years straight whenever they had an opportunity:
  • Police don't have a contract - and by the way, here's a drunk idiot trying to beat a bartender;
  • Police rescue family from a fire - and in case you forgot, here's an asshole climbing behind a bar and trying to serve himself;
  • Police haters and aldercreatures with a political ax to grind want everyone's name dragged through the mud - and here's another glimpse of a video of a single drunk moron who never should have been hired in the first place;
  • It's time for a Charlie Brown Christmas - and if the guy in this video had appeared at the Christmas Pageant, he would have ripped down the tree and rat-tailed Linus with his own blanket before throwing Lucy over Schroeder's piano.
But even though it has been overplayed a bit, we never had heard of these two heinous allegations:
  • The scenes caught on the recording alternate from a typical gathering at a local tavern with men calling out for the next round as the Empire Today commercial airs in the background and Abbate sings "Desperado" to the jukebox. An agitated Abbate punches one friend and tosses another to the ground in apparent anger over a remark made about his dog.

    Later that evening, he attacked Obrycka, who tried to thwart Abbate from coming behind the bar. Earlier in the recording, Abbate sang "Sweet Caroline" to Obrycka and the two appear to have civil exchanges,
If anyone ever came up with video of us singing "Desperado" and "Sweet Caroline," we'd have resigned and left town a long time ago.

SSC could you post the very sad news that on Dec 12 the son of States Attorney Investigator Mike Stanton passed away in his sleep.

Mike's father was a Chicago Police officer and his brother is a Chicago Police officer in the 12th district.

Danny was a great kid and there is not enough space to describe how great a kid is was.

Wise beyond his four years and a great athlete, what ever sport he tried he was great at.

Sorry about the late notice. We are trying to cope as best we can as friend and neighbors of the family.

The wake is today the 15th of Dec at Smith Corccoran Funeral Home at 6150 N Cicero from 3PM to 9PM.

The funeral will be the 16th of Dec at St Mary of the Woods church located at 7000 North Moselle at 12:00 noon.

A benefit fund is set up at Associated Bank. If you would like to help the family in their time of need just stop by any branch bank and ask to contribute to the Stanton Family Fund.

Please say a prayer for Danny and his mother and father and his brothers and sister. They need all the support in this time of need.

Respectfully

P.O. James Hartnett #4217

This evening, our illustrious leader, j-fed, was on WTTW's Chicago Tonight program. He was interviewed by Phil Ponce, who took it very easy on banjo boy, and let banjo boy talk his crap about numbers showing crime reduction, more with less, officers on the dot, and our shortages compared to the Phoenix Police Department, however, Mr. Ponce did ask him about the FOP no confidence vote. Banjo boy related to Mr. Ponce that he, Ponce, should ask the officer on the street. Wah? Huh?

Hey Phil Ponce, you do not have to leave your office to learn the opinion shared by the officers on the street. Just punch up this here SCC blog and you will learn exactly how we feel about j-fed.

Make no mistake, j-fed is a piece of scum, low-down, dirty dog that is way over his head, in a profession of which he knows nothing. He cannot leave soon enough for the officer on the street. Now Mr. Ponce, there is your answer from the officers on the street and you didn't even have to leave your desk.

on 15Dec09 at appx. 1630 hrs.,I clicked on the link to Breaking News that SCC provided. After reading some of the comments from the readers I felt compelled to make a comment of my own. Terrance stated that we blocked off the parking lot during Abbates court appearance and implied that we tried to obstruct the newsmedia. Because I was there that day and did not see any obstruction nor did I see any Officer block off a parking lot other than the rear one which is clearly marked "Do Not Enter" and "Police Vehicles Only" I commented to Terrance and the other readers that his remarks were incorrect. Breaking News has yet to publish my comment. Another poster named Mick then stated that he has never seen a Chicago Police Officer do anything good, not once. Once again I posted a rebuttal. Once again Breaking News refused to publish my comments. It is apparent that Breaking News wants only anti-Police comments, does not want to publish the truth and censors the readers.

YES, YES, YES, Luis Guiterraz has made a PERSONAL PLEA on behalf of ...Ronnie "Maddog" Carrisquillo (sp?) the killer of Chicago Police Officer Terry Loftus.
He has swayed the parole board to the degree that his case comes up annually and only kept in jail by a slim 2 vote margin.
Aside from voting this bomb-tossing politician out of office, keep signing those petitions when distributed to keep cop-killers in jail.
It is NOT an automatic thing.
Only a few (police) family friends attend the parole hearings at 26th St. along with FOP and our Memorial Foundation reps.
The family(ies) are worn out. You can't blame them. They are not allowed any closure. They are required to appear annually to protest the parole and again relive every horrible moment of the loss of their loved ones.
Many just give up. WE, their police family must assist them any way we can, even if it just means showing up at 26th St. in support or attending (bus ride) to Springfield for the en banc hearing.
It's called ... that Thin Blue Line.
Don't allow it to break. It's been stretched far enough.
Just saying....
(Stay safe)

A good reason to vote him out is he REFUSES to back reinstating our full social security benefits.

I called his office on behalf of my mother, a former railroad worker who falls in the same category as we do, and myself.

His clerk took the message and told me not to expect anything as he has already stated he WILL NOT SUPPORT IT.
