Bears Post Mortem

Can't they just forfeit the last two games and refund everyone's money?
  • The Baltimore Ravens are starting to look more like a playoff team, although it was difficult to judge for certain Sunday given the woeful performance of the Chicago Bears.

Joe Flacco threw a career-high four touchdown passes, and the Ravens capitalized on six Chicago turnovers in a 31-7 rout.
Fire everyone and start the rebuilding year now. We can't remember a worse Bears performance in years.

Ravens are only a playoff team if the opposing team is quaterbacked by Cutler. 4 of the ravens scores were because of turnovers.

To their credit, all involved, Angelo, Smith, Cutler, all refused to make the snowstorm in Baltimore an issue in this embarrassing loss.

On a side note, it is more than incredible that the people involved were able to get that field cleared and cleaned for that game. You'd think that they had only gotten some intermittent snow flurries or something. The guy in charge of that stadium operation should be hired immediately and given old Tommie Byrnes Snow Command spot and send that old codger packing!

"So, I read yesterday and it's on the Sports news that Lovie WILL BE BACK with the Bears in 2010."

"Whoever said THAT in the Bears organization should be fired just for that statement. Wait till the end of the season, at least. What if they lose every game for the rest of the season? There's no reason to think they won't..."

Hmmmm? Jerry Angelo must be reading SCC now, also... During the Bears pre-game show (pre-recorded by Fox w/ Waddle & McFerrin), they were reporting the above info that Lovie Smith "will be back" as coach of the Bears in 2010. Next up on Bears GameDay Live w/ Tom Thayer and Jeff Joniak, THEY are telling quite a different story.

Apparently, Angelo was cornered in the press box and gave an impromptu Q & A, in which he shied away from reports that it was a done deal that Lovie will be back. This came about after he was asked if it was the $11 million still owed on Lovie Smith's contract that would keep him from being fired. Angelo said it will be an evaluation of the job performance and NOT the financial obligation, that will determine the coaches fate and this evaluation will not be completed until the end of the season.

Blah, blah, blah! He just doesn't want to get fired for f*cking up this once proud franchise!

During the Bears Post Game Live show on Comcast Sports Network, Dan Jiggets made an interesting observation!

He said that the "big name" coaches that are out there, such as Bill Cower, Mike Holmgren or Mike Shanahan are NOT LIKELY to be interested in the Bears job simply because Chicago has a General Manager. He said that they want total control as Coach/GM (as Holmgren had in Seattle or Parcells has had) before they will consider returning to the field.

Fine by me! Fire Lovie and Angelo and bring in a PROFESSIONAL!

I saw where Jay Glazer reported that Mike Shanahan is staying out of the talk of taking over the Washington Redskins because he really wants a shot at the Dallas Cowboys job!

Hmmm...? Didn't know that job was open, Mike! Are you trying to get someone fired? What a cutthroat MF you are, Dude!

Gotta slip this in

FROM THE TWISTED MIND OF LATHROP ONE:

(with SCC's kindest permission of course)

Twas the night of Thanksgiving and out of the house

Tiger Woods came a flyin', chased by his spouse.

She wielded a nine iron and wasn't too merry,

Cause a bimbo’s phone number was in his Blackberry.

He’d been cheatin' on Elin, and the story progressed.

Woman after woman stepped up and confessed.

He’d been cheatin’ with Holly, and Jaimee, and Cori,

With Joselyn, and Kalika. The world had the story.

From the top of the Tour to the basement of blues,

Tiger’s sad sordid tale was all over the news.

With hostesses, waitresses, he had lots of sex,

When not in their pants, he was sendin' them texts.

Despite all his cryin’ and beggin' and pleadin',

Tiger’s wife went investin' -- a new home in Sweden.

And I heard her exclaim from her white Escalade,

"If you’re getting' laid then I’m getting' paid."

She’s not pouting, in fact, she is of jolly good cheer,

Her prenup made Christmas come early this year.
